LIF running group
I am just starting to come back to running and am really in bad shape I'm a lot slower than i orinally thought I'd be.... but I took a lot of time off. bummer.
so, do any of you guys belong to a beginners running club? would love to join some fellow LIF'ers in a running adventure this summer. i really need some support and motivation! and plus, i always think it's fun to work out with people.

Re: LIF running group
I was going to join a running club but ended up meeting a group of women in my neighborhood who I run with on the weekends for my long runs.
I think you should do it. It helps keep you motivated and helps keep up your pace.

Re: LIF running group
I would definately be interested. I am SO out of shape & overweight now. I used to run & swim long distance in High School. I think If I could get back into running I would easily be able to lose the weight I want to lose.
You just reminded me to look into this more.....Thanks

Re: LIF running group
In theory I'd love to run with a group. In reality, I'd be scared that I'm too slow and wouldn't make it too far with them.
If I were pushed/encouraged by fellow runners, I could probably do 3 miles at a 10:30 pace or so, or 4+ miles at about a 12:00 pace.

Re: LIF running group
I would do something just to keep me in the routine, but I am still on the run/walk type program (couch to 5K style)...if anyone out there is into that, I'm game!

This is exactly my situation!! I'm too timid to run with really serious runners because I'm just not up to their ability yet. I hover around 11 min miles.

Re: LIF running group
I could do something like this maybe once a week or so for fun. I live in Suffolk though.
I have been getting emails from the Port Jeff running club for months but I feel like they are just too advanced for me!

Where do you live? I'd love someone to run with but I have to bring the kiddies and my double jogger. I'm in Commack.
