LIFamilies - Ron, Liz or Kim Re: Night Out Prize
Since it's a little difficult to coordinate this via FM, since you can't FM more than 6 people at once, I figured I'd start a thread.
Just wanted to let you know that we have pretty much chosen a date. Since Deb is an out of towner, we kind of planned around that. The date is Friday October 6th (the Friday of Columbus Day weekend)
So far I have:
GoingNutty - mostly can make it depending on the time
MrsPorkChop - awaiting reply
JenniferEver - most likely Yes
MissJones - Yes
MrsRbk - Yes
mrswask - awaiting reply (check your FM missy )
skew - can't make it
VirginiaDeb - will hopefully be able to make it
Me - yes
Some questions that were asked:
- what time will we be meeting - where are we going - where will we meet up
If anyone's status changes please let me know.
ETA: In case anyone's wondering (since I got a couple of FMs) and I don't want anyone to feel out of the loop - this thread is for the winners of this game from a couple of weeks ago. LIFamilies did a game where we had to guess names of LI towns. There were several winners (listed above) and the prize was a night out to a nice dinner with Ron, Liz, Kim, and the other winners via limo. This thread was started to coordinate the outing

Some questions that were asked:

October 6 is good for us too!
Answers! I would assume when everyone gets off work!
You will find out when you get there!
Please decide on a central location like a park and ride.

Re: LIFamilies - Ron, Liz or Kim Re: Night Out Prize
I'm traveling in from NJ, so most likely would need to leave work on the aarly side, so a central meeting place would be ideal!

You're welcome!
Dumb question - what's a park and ride? I'm guessing it's certain LIRR stations? I haven't taken the train in a awhile as you can see...

It's a parking lot right off the expressway not the train station lot.

Do we have to pay money? I don't know what this is either. I'm from Queens
Whatever, you let me know and I'll be there..I mean preferably Nassau or at least not way way out in Suffolk. Where does everyone live?

I believe you have to pay for a park and ride, no?
I agree with Jen - I think Eastern Nassau/Western Suffolk is a good meeting area... we have people coming from Jersey, Virginia, Queens... I'm not sure where everyone else is but I'm in Nassau so that works for me.
If anyone has any good meeting place suggestions where we can leave our cars parked - please chime in!

Are there that many people from Suffolk that it needs to be Eastern Nassau? I mean maybe Western Nassau is better (I don't mind driving, but we have jersey gals coming), and Deb my offer to pick you up at JFK still stands, provided I don't have to work.

Pay to park = no! Around 110 might be a good place to meet!

Re: LIFamilies - Ron, Liz or Kim Re: Night Out Prize
This is the west-most park and ride at LIE Exit 49
Still a bit far for Jersey and Queens people, IMO.
If we want something further west we need to pick a place. How about the parking lot of a bar since they'll be people around all night and we don't have to worry about leaving our cars in a dark empty lot? Maybe in the parking lot of Savannah's on Hempstead Tpke in East Meadow? Or something along those lines...

Re: LIFamilies - Ron, Liz or Kim Re: Night Out Prize
I live in Farmingdale so Nassau/Suffolk is okay with me. I think Sears in Hicksville used to have a Park and Ride side... right on 107, not too far from the LIE... but they do close around 9:30 if you are concerned about that.
I start work on Tuesday so I should get an idea of what my schedule is like then. I don't think it will be a problem!!!
Yay!!

would rather make it a place easier to find for those of us not familiar with Nassau! is there another parking lot off one of the main roads?

Re: LIFamilies - Ron, Liz or Kim Re: Night Out Prize
True... it should be off of a major roadway... I'm not too familiar with exits off the LIE so anyone know a good parking lot off the LIE?
Even though... on a friday night after work...telling anyone to get on the LIE and head east is like telling them to do go do this
I think it should be a off of one of the less congested parkways...if that's even possible on LI
