Life sure has been tough guys and gals....
Hey Everyone!
For those of you that know me, already know what happened. For those of you that don't...I was engaged to a great man, just not a great man for me! We wanted 2 different things in life and it just was NOT going to make it a happy marriage. I called off the wedding this past December. It's been tough! I have never been alone (or without a serious boyfriend). I am very young and in all honesty, don't enjoy most of the scenes people my age do so it makes it difficult for me to get out and meet people....potential dates.
Ugggghhhh!! Just wanted to let it all out to some people that might understand!
Thanks for letting me go on and on and on!

I am really glad you posted this i actually got married and am now in the process of divorce due to similar things ,,,,,,,, I apporeciate you coming forward ! It helps to know I am not alone !

Stacy, don't worry you have a lifetime ahead of you. The right man for you will come in due time...I'm sure of it. Maybe someone who watches over you feels it's not the time yet. But enjoy your life and the things it has to offer you.

Stacey - It stinks to hear "it'll happen when the time is right", "have patience", "he's out there", etc, etc, eetc, ad nasuem ... but the truth is ... you are a beautiful, smart woman ... you will find someone to fullfil your every need and while it's frustrating think of all the opportunities to meet new people ... not every man you date has to be husband potential ... some can just be fun, time killing adventures. Get a free dinner out of it - see a movie, discover a new friend.
Even if they are "just guys", you never know what you'll discover about them or yourself. I believe we can learn each and every day from the people we encounter so try not to get too discouraged, you'll come out stronger in the end

I am sorry to hear this Stacy. Have you thought about using this time to pursue things that might interest you: maybe take up a new hobby, travel, take a class that might interest you? I can totally emphasize with your situation. Before I met DH, I was single for a loooooong time, and it felt endless and was depressing. Looking back, I really wish I had used more of that time for myself and done fun things; just to enjoy life and have fun. I really regret not being more proactive. This could be a great time for you. You deserve it!! Don't you worry about that man either, he will come along before you know it.

Stacy, you are NOT a pest whatsoever ..
PLEASE feel free to vent whenever you need to, that is what this board is all about!
You have been such a good friend to many people here- in turn, we're all here for you and to help you and support you!!
It takes a very very strong woman to make the decision you had to make, and right this second you might not fully understand WHY things are happening in your life the way they are, but I promise you that down the road, at some point in the future, you will look back at this time in your life and you WILL realize that it did happen for a reason
(trust me I hated hearing these things when I was single and going through my "finding myself' times.. I hate even saying them, they sound so "cliche" .. BUT it is the truth, I promise you that!)
You are young, beautiful, intelligent and have so much to offer this world - with or without a man , makes no difference - take this time to be selfish, be ALL about "Stacy" and you will discover things about yourself you never imagined you would!!

I think you are a very strong woman to have done what you did, I've had friends that got too wrapped in "being a bride" or not wanting to be alone, so they got married and p.s anywhere from 6-14 months later they are divorcing...
You're a young beautiful girl and your Mr. Right will def. come along....
there's a saying - "better to be alone for the right reasons than with someone for the wrong"

Always remember that you do have a lot to offer! Nothing wrong with having confidence!
I didn't meet DH til I was 31 and had to watch all my friends get married and have kids while I wasn't even dating anyone. Yet I got to travel and pursue my interests and as much as that sounds like women's magazine drivel I am so glad that it worked out the way it did. It will work out for you too. Keep your chin up!
