Re: Light colored bath rugs

I have a light tan one- and it doesn't have the rubber backing- so I throw it in with the towels

no big deal- I like to wash the rug alot anyway

I have that color bath rug, I have a few different colors that coordinate with the different shower curtains I have.

honestly, the darker colored ones need to be washed 1x a week IMO. everything shows! not the case with celedon green.

Re: Light colored bath rugs

I have a light colored rug in our bathroom...in front of the tub and i wash it every week. I put it in the dryer but on Air only...no heat....it seems to not break down the rubber backing and it lasts longer

We only use white. It has rubber backing, but can be washed in hot water with bleach...just NO dryer.

Really?

I don;t know why I can never bring myself to do it. I feel like the rug is so much durtier than the towels, they shouldn't be in the same wash, KWIM?

We have a light tan loop rug in front of the sink and it stays pretty clean. We don't wear shoes in the house so that helps. For the shower, we use a bath mat (a cushier towel), which I think is great because you can pick it up after you get out and hang it on the bar to dry.

I have a white cotton bath mat with no rubber backing even though it usually looks perfectly clean, I throw it in the whites wash once a week.

We have an off-white rug with the rubber backing. We don't wear shoes in the house either but I wtill wash it every 2 weeks. I put it in seperately and hang dry it in the basement (outside in the nicer weather). I don't bother putting it in dryer on air b/c it dries pretty fast on the line.
