Lighthearted book recommendations
The last few books I've read have been quite good but really heavy. I feel like I need something a little more lighthearted next. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Also anything by Laurie Notaro or Jen Lancaster. I really liked Bitter is the New Black by Jen Lancaster. Some of her other books were a little hit or miss. Anything by Chelsea Handler, so long as you're not easily offended.

Lighthearted book recommendations
It's been out a few years by now but Tina Fey's "Bossypants" is a great funny read. And I agree with the PP's, can't go wrong with Sophie Kinsella or Chelsea Handler either

Re: Lighthearted book recommendations
For total fluff, I really like some of Nora Roberts' trilogies and quartet series... .like "The Bride Quartet."
I agree with the Sophie Kinsella recommendation, and I also liked the earlier works of Jane Green, and Anna Maxted (also British chick-lit authors).
For some fun "mommy lit," Jane Porter is good (I like "Mrs. Perfect"). Whitney Lyles also has some fun wedding and baby themed books that are a series ("Always The Bridesmaid," "Here Comes the Bride," "First Comes Love,").
For a slight literary step up, I love Elin Hildebrand's books (they have some weightier themes, but are still relatively light, easy reads).
"What Alice Forgot" by Liane Moriarty was a light read, but dealt with some interesting themes. Allison Winn Scotch's books are like that, too. And Emily Giffin's books. Laura Dave has some similar books in the more literary/weightier chick lit vein).
I've recently gotten into Cathy Lamb's books... again, she deals with some serious, darker issues, but the books somehow come off as light and rather funny. For example, I recently read "If You Could See What I See" and while it touched on some darker topics (domestic abuse, mental illness) the book was still uplifting and included romance and heartwarming family dynamics.

Anything by Emily Giffin! She's my favorite author so I've read all of her books and really enjoyed everyone of them.
Kristan Higgins also has a lot of lighthearted, romantic books. I recently read The Best Man and liked it.
