Lilly has colitis
On Easter, she was having some stomach issues - they have been continuing on until today - she wasn't eating well, not drinking much and her belly is making AWFUL noises! When I came home from work this afternoon, she went # 2 in the living room, which she NEVER does and then squatted and let out (sorry if way TMI) a huge wad of clear Jell-O. I scooped her up and off to the vet we went. Thankfully, they are right around the corner. The doctor (who I LOVE LOVE LOVE) diagnosed her with colitis. we have to feed her a bland diet (rice, macaroni, bread) and give her 1/4 tab of Pepcid twice a day and an antibiotic as well. And she has a fever - her temp was 104.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Is this something that she will always be plagued with?
My poor sicky little girl. She always seems to have an "incident" when DH is away on business. I tell him it's because she misses him so much.
She is not wanting to eat AT ALL!!! I have tried elbow macaroni, rice, her regular food - she wants no part of anything. Should I just let her go hungry? She would eat if she was hungry, right?

Re: Lilly has colitis
My dog had this. Our vet had us give her a little boiled chicken with brown rice, a quarter tablet of Imodium and an antibiotic. She was better in a few days.

Re: Lilly has colitis
Awwww V - I'm sorry to hear Lilly-pad isn't feeling well.
Hang in there, she's probably not hungry b/c her stomach is all unsettled. Eventually she will eat when she's hungry.

I hope Lily feels better
Not sure about dogs, but I know that humans can bring about a colitis attack with stress.

Awww, poor Lilly!!
I hope she feels better real soon!! Hopefully the Pepcid will help settle her tummy and she'll eat when she gets hungry.

Re: Lilly has colitis
Thanks everyone! She seems to be feeling better today - her appetite is back and she's her normal "boing-y" self, so I guess that's a good thing!
She hasn't pooped since yesterday afternoon, though...
