I guess it depends. My DD goes to Albany Ave and I do not like it. My niece goes to West Gates and they love it, so it all depends I guess. My DD is going to Middle school next yearChat Icon

Re: Lindenhurst Village SD?

My BIL works in the high school and my friend works in the middle school. They both said that the schools are okay-- not bad but not the best. I have no idea about the elementary schools, but in the upper grades, there are some issues... I work in a nearby school, and I think that in order of best to worst in the area--
1. Massapequa
2. Babylon
3. West Babylon
4. Lindenhurst
5. Copiague
6. Amityville

I hope this doesn't offend anyone-- not my intention-- I have lived in this area my whole life and know a lot about the schools.

Well I dont like the principal. We came from N. Babylon and I love them,. When I registered her, I just had a bad feeling and from talking to everyone, they said that the principal is very difficult to get along with. But I dont care as long as my daughter is getting a good education. ( people had problems with him when he would let the kids play outside in the nice weather).

My daugher needs a little extra help. so she goes to resource and I dont feel that she is getting anything from it. I dont want them to do the work for her, but I dont understand why she would fail a test that she takes with help and when I confront the teacher she said to me that she didnt have the text book so she wasnt sure of the answers (they way they were given) that is unaceptable to me. My daughter just went down there recently and another teacher said that she didnt have time to help her because she had to get ready for a meeting. Chat Icon
In a nutshell those are some of the reasons why I dont like Albany. I just feel that they can do a lot better.

wow im sorry you are having so many problems - im surprised a teacher would say those things - that they didnt have a textbook, etc.

I hope the middle school is better for your daughter!

Thank you. On a good note, what I really do like about Albany is that they switch classes. which is great for the kids to get ready for middle school. Sidney needs that because she is so unorganized.
