If you're responsible for hiring people, do you check their LinkedIn profile? Do you find it a helpful tool? Does it affect who you hire?

I have one & I sign on about once a month to check in. I've inherited my employees & haven't had to hire anyone new in the almost 3 years that I've been here, so I haven't used it when hiring.

I have one. I have checked prospective hires profiles.. but a lot of people don't have them! And of those that do, not too many have referrals on them.
I know it's an effective networking tool.. and I really need to get better at using it.

I have one but I don't use it much. I should get on there more often as I know it can be great for networking new clients.

i did it a few years ago when investigating it for the college i work for. I barely use it but its nice to be in networks and find out when special events are going on.
i think its especially important when job hunting.
