Lip Grossness
Sorry, didn't know how else to describe it!
My lips are just so nasty lately, and I don't mean chapped. More like a ton of dead skin. Like I'll put my lip gloss on in the AM and it's nice and smooth, and then I get to work and look in the mirror and it's all flaking off (not dry) but like gross skin all over my lips. I need to take a paper towel and rub my lips to get rid of it and start over. I also noticed it on my coffee cup this morning
What do I need to do? A lip scrub? Daily? Weekly? Can you recommend a good one?

I got this as a gift, and it's great. But, honestly, it's not worth the $$ - a little sugar and olive oil/coconut only whatever you use is EXACTLY the same thing, if not better b/c the sugar is a bit more harsh so you have a better exfoliator.

You can just mix a little sugar and warm water and scrubber lips. At night, old school Vaseline.

Re: Lip Grossness
I agree - sugar and oil or water will work well! And yeah - apply balm before you go to sleep. I can't even fall asleep without it now, no matter what the season is.

I use it every other day It's made a huge difference in my dry flaky lips and it tastes so yummy!!! I have the cupcake one but they have a bunch of flavors. You can lick it off! After I apply lip balm. It's much cheaper than the Sugar brand. I never make my own products but I suppose you could do it yourself

Re: Lip Grossness
I use the ELF lip exfoliator and then coconut oil. I do it 2x a week. I'm also ADDICTED to chapstick so I always have some kind of lip balm on even under my lipstick.

Re: Lip Grossness
See it's funny because my lips don't feel or look dry. In fact the skin that flakes off (or hangs out all over my lips) is kind of moist. It's so nasty But I am thinking I need an exfoliater more than anything so I'll look into some of the suggestions here. Thanks girls!

Re: Lip Grossness
take an old toothbrush (or a new one..just not the one you use every day ), dip it in vaseoline, and then some regular sugar and lightly scrub. you can probably do coconut oil too.
i read this in soap opera digest years ago. one of the makeup artists or soap stars..i forget..used to do this to get the dead skin off.

Re: Lip Grossness
Straight up olive oil and brown sugar. Rub in and wipe off repeat and let it sit a few minutes. Then aquaphor and aquaphor at bed too

Re: Lip Grossness
Do you brush your lips?
I use a toothbrush with warm water to brush them.

Lip Grossness
My lips gets really bad this time of year but Maybelline Baby Lips works for me. Once I apply that all the dry/scale skin comes off( not sure where it goes but they are smooth). Then I apply my lip color for the day.
