LIPA raising their rates again.
I just heard on news 12 that LIPA is going to have a significant fuel surcharge increase. How much more can we take. Its really becoming harder and harder to live here.

Re: LIPA raising their rates again.
Honestly, the increase in the cost of oil is a national problem right now. As most of our energy in this country is produced through the burning of oil nearly everyone community in the nation will see a substantial percentage increase in their energy bills this year over last. Yes, it is expensive to live on LI but most of the country will be feeling the same percentage increase in energy costs as we will.

Are you on budget? That seems alot because Newsday said it was only a 1% increase. Our budget just came up in September and we went up from $68/month to $74/month.

This is what I was thinking...I live in Queens but my co-op board already added a fuel surcharge for the winter months.
