Lipstick
I hope everyone does this just to be safe. We got a notice at work that many of our favorite lipsticks contain lead causing cancer. This is how to test it... Take your lipstick smear it on the top of your hand. Take a gold ring and rub it back and forth on the lipstick that u smeared on your hand. If the lipstick turns black on your hand, it has lead in it. I had 2 lipsticks, one did turn black and one did not. Just a FYI...one brand is very commonly used. I dont want to give out bad publicity for this brand so try it and see what u come up with. Hope this info helps.

Re: Lipstick
I just looked this up on snopes.com. It is a false rumor that circulated around the internet. Even if there was lead in the lipstick, lead doesn't cause cancer. It can lead to many other problems, especially in children.
According to the article, "All dyes used in foodstuffs or cosmetics have to be vetted by the FDA for safety, and although some of the colorants the FDA grants approval to do contain lead, it is present in such miniscule amounts that is has no adverse effects on consumers."

Re: Lipstick
Thanks for your article. I read this at work but I still have to say, did u try it? BC it turned dark black on my hand and I was pretty sick from thinking I had smut on my mouth. I still think I will throw mine out. P.S. I am just curious, I just finished the article....would u really still wear these lipsticks that turn black based on that article?
