LIRR Commuters

There's a lot to be said about taking the local over the express.

For instance, tonight I was sitting on of those fold-down seats and this big burly guy around 55 came and sat across from me. He sat on the edge of the seat with his feet in the isle. So I was glad he didn't have feet kicking me.

Well wouldn't you know he was farting up a storm before we even left the tunnelChat Icon

Note to self: tomorrow you can catch the next train 18 minutes later and get home a little later - the albeit stale, but fresh air is worth it.

if you were on the 5:55 as I was...there are plenty of seats in the backChat Icon I used to do the whole front car, first off the train bit at LB...now, with Bella in daycare I get off in East Rockaway and ride in style in the rear...

I was! I was on my way to the back actually and then I saw all these people heading to like the last car. I think I was in the third or so to the last car. Riding ins style - you aren't kidding! I actually rather go all the way to the back, grab a seat and then start walking up at Oceanside.

Luckily my flatulent seat mate got off in Lynbrook. DH & I have a friend that lives in a building right near the ER train station. I am SO jealousChat Icon She has such an an easy walk!

Hey I guess you could always take Centre Ave once you move. Between Oceanside, East Rockaway, & Centre Avenue, the train barely moves!

Ah the joys of commuting. Having no sense of smell comes in VERY handy.
