LIRR to Airtrain
Anyone done it? Can you walk me through the steps? Get to Jamaica and then where would I go? Thanks!

LIRR to Airtrain
Super easy. You get out of LIRR train at Jamaica and go up escalator/stairs to upper platform (there are signs pointing to Airtrain). You go into what is basically the entry to the Airtrain terminal and there are ticket machines to purchase your $5 metro card if you don't already have one. You use metro card to go through turnstile and enter area where you'd catch the train. You get on the airtrain and get off at the terminal where you flight is. (I usually check my ticket to make sure I know which terminal I'm going to but there is a directory of all airlines/terminals inside the train).
I don't think you could get lost if you tried!

What she said!
So easy. And I am directionally challenged
Just look up what your terminal number is ahead of time, so you know which stop to get off.
Easiest thing ever

Re: LIRR to Airtrain
Oh, awesome. I thought I had to hope on another subway line to get to the Airtrain.
Thanks so much. I didn't want to be that loser walking around in circles with a suitcase getting in everyone's way. I hate that person, haha.

Re: LIRR to Airtrain
Ok, you all are making be believe I can do this! Haha! I HATE traveling, and the thought of getting to airport by train, which I've never done, is giving me serious anxiety.
Now saying prayers there's no train issues that day. Ugh.

I felt the same as you. I was a nervous wreck the first time. I am terrible with travelling, directions, I get anxiety. After I saw how easy it was, I couldn't believe it. You totally can do it. If I can, anyone can. Just leave on an earlier train than necessary, in case of the all so common LIRR delays. I'd rather be sitting in the airport for an extra hour than be stressed out, kwim?
