List of questions for RE?
Does anyone happen to have a list of questions for the first RE appointment?
We have been TTC for 13 months. Normal SA, normal CD 3 b/w, normal HSG.
I'm now being referred to the RE since my doctor has done all he can for the preliminary testing.
I'm looking for a list of questions. I did a quick search on here and couldn't find anything. I used the keywords "RE, list, and questions" and didn't come up with much.
Thanks!

Re: List of questions for RE?
my first thought is regarding a good BD'ing schedule for you & DH....just overall - to know what a pro thinks you should be doing...and if the RE agrees with your OB on his diagnosis...

Well we don't have a diagnosis yet.
Also, I'm guessing we'd be doing IUI as the next step - so I don't think we'll need the BD schedule (although that would have been a good question!)

Re: List of questions for RE?
For now my Qs are:
1. What are your office hours?
2. How many times will you try a certain treatment before moving on to another game plan?
3. Do you perform all the major procedures in your office?
4. If I have a question, how available are you to speak to?
5. Once we come to a treatment game plan, can I be cycled right in?
6. Does your lab/office close during certain months?
7. What are your success rates?

Re: List of questions for RE?
Your RE will probably run a whole bunch of other tests you have not had and then, with you, decide on a course of treatment.
But I think the list of questions you have is great. Is DH going with you? There's always so much at a first appt, it's better to have a 2nd set of ears listening!
Good luck!

What other tests do you think we might have done?
Yes, DH is coming too!

Re: List of questions for RE?
I don't know your history, but some RE's will do a water sonogram, a post-coital test. My RE's office also tested for HIV, gonorrhea and clymdia. DH may have to do the SA again, depending on how long ago he had it, and you will probably have to do a month's work of blood again..
While you are there, you may want to ask to be tested for MTHFR Factor V, since they will most likely do blood work again. Dr.'s usually wait until you have had at least 2 m/c's to test for this, but I urge everyone who is going to an RE to insist on having it during the beginning stages of testing. If you have it, it will save you a heartache I was not saved. If you know what it is, I apologize in advance, but it is a blood clotting issue that arises and can cause clotting while you are pregnant and cause a m/c. It's very easily solved, baby aspirin and lovenox. It's very easily tested for with one vial of blood.
You may also want to ask if they do a genetic screening also (blood work).
