Re: List of What to have in the house for baby?
I'm trying to remember everything we have used since she was born - she's 9 months now
* Nasal Asperator (the dreaded boogie sucker. my hospital gave us one, but I don't know if that's normal) * Nail clippers (in the beginning I was clipping her finger nails 2x a week, now it's more like once a week) * Tweezers (we haven't used these yet) * Vaseline and guaze pads (for circumsized boys) * Rubbing Alcohol & cotton balls (for the umbilical cord - some doctors tell you not to use it and let it dry out on it's own) * Infant Tylenol * Infant Motrin (if the baby is REALLY sick you can give them a dose of Tylenol, then Motrin 4 hours later and then Tylenol again 2 hours later) * Infant Mylecon (or some kind of gas drops) * Thermometer (my doctor prefers rectal temps, I brought mine with me and he showed me how to do it on her first visit. it's a lot easier than it sounds) * Diaper rash creme (Sarah's never had a bad diaper rash. Once I see she's a little pink I use Balmex and it takes care of it. Some people use it with each diaper, I just use it when she looks irritated. Totally a preference thing) * Baby shampoo * Baby soap if you want. My doctor recommended plain Dove, which is what DH & I use anyway. * Baby tub (Not totally necessary, my mom used to put us right in the kitchen sink. We got one as a gift so I use that.) * Diapers (I know - duh) * Bibs (Sarah was a very messy eater from the beginning, she used to get formula all over herself) * Brush & comb * Bottles, nipples, etc. * Bottle/nipple brush * Formula (I'd recommend having a can of powder just in case, even if you plan to breast feed. For some reason my milk never came in, and I stupidly waited too long to get help from a professional, so Sarah was on formula from Day 1. DH had to run out to get some as soon as we got home from the hospital)
That's all I can remember right now. If I think of more I'll add it. Hope this helps!

Swing, bouncy seat, PNP for whatever room you will mostly be in. You will not want to be running back and forth to the baby's room to change him/her.
