Listing a house in FL??
My brother is located in Northport (South-West) Florida and is looking to sell his home, along with 2 other homes that he owns in the area and move back to NY
My question is, has any one ever listed an out of state property with a NY agent and if so, does it work?
He is right now doing sale by owner, but because of the large amount of homes for sale in the area, he is looking for the best possible way to get the property on the market.
Any ideas?
Thank you

Re: Listing a house in FL??
If he is selling his houses in FL, I would list it with a FL realtor, NOT a NY realtor IMO. I would have him scout the area in FL and see which realtors seem to be popular in the area. Then call up a few of them and go from there.
ETS: that if I were him, I'd also list the properties on craigslist.com (as well as here) (both on FL and NY forums, you never know who is looking to move out of NY to FL)
GL!

Re: Listing a house in FL??
why wouldn't he list it with a local agent?
I look on realtor.com for FL homes weekly - so I would def suggest a national website listing

He is most likely going to list with a FL agent, but we were just thinking out loud of other ideas

Re: Listing a house in FL??
I don't think it's a bad idea to advertise in NY
I just don't think an agent in NY would be helpful
I like the craigs list idea also
