Little boy penis help! - UPDATE - It's MRSA!!! (ugh)
So DS is circumcised. Last night I noticed that where the skin is pulled back on his penis it was very red. And he was tugging on his diaper before he went to bed. I put some A&D ointment on it and a fresh diaper.
This morning it was not only very red, but a bit inflamed as well. Since I am definitely not an expert on these parts, I am looking to see if anyone else has experienced this with DS.
I called the ped this morning and am waiting for a call back... thought in the meantime I would post on here.
If you have any ideas, please share! Thanks!
UPDATE*****
Well, I took DS to the ped the day I posted this question and she didn't think it was anything to worry about. She actually thought that maybe his circumcision had tried to reattach and pulled away, making the area very red and "angry". But she took a culture of the red area to test for a strep infection. She told me to use Neosporin and if it got worse, to call back. She also said they would call with the results on Thursday.
Well, THursday came and went and I didn't hear from them and assumed it was nothing because it got better. They left me a message last night and by the time I got it was too late to call them back.
SO, I called them this morning and it came back as MRSA!  The nurse had to calm me down because all I know of that is it's a super bug that's hard to get rid of with antibiotics. She prescribed an antibiotic and a cream and said it was a good thing that it was getting better. 
SHe asked me where he got it and I was like  ... how the heck am I supposed to know?
So now I am panicking because I think I have it so I am going to the doctor on Friday to get checked! Ugh! Now I have to tell DH and he is traveling and will probably freak out! Couldn't have just been easy!
Has anyone experienced DC having the MRSA bacteria? What happened?

It could be anything from him pinching it to a rash. Only your pediatrician would know.
Does it seem to be bothering him?

How old is he?
Are you pulling the skin all the way back to clean it? I wasn't pulling it far enough back and his penis kept getting red. When I finally went to the ped he had to pull it back again and basically seperate the skin. It was getting red because it was getting a little infected.
Now I pull that bad boy all the way back numerous times a day!  I had no clue what to do with a penis!

He won't really let me touch it so I am assuming that it is bothering him. And last night he was walking funny... like he just got off a horse and pulling on his diaper so maybe it was hurting him.
I will have to see what the ped says when she calls back!

Ds has the issues too. In some spots his circumcision is actually reattaching. They said it was common. I hope that's what it is for him.

is it just the head under the skin where it is circumcised that is red and inflammed and sensitive to the touch?
For my own peace of mind see if his testicles are sore too by touching them and gauging him reaction. I know it's a long shot but I'd hate for Lucas (and you and Chris) to have to go through what we went through.
And I'm not trying to freak you out. To me it really does sound like it is just an irritation issue under the skin and just needs to be pulled back, cleaned and treated.
Keep me updated on what the doc says.

Oh Lisa, trust me, we are on high testicular alert since your chain of events! The problem is the skin where he was circumcised and underneath it. It is now actually almost blood red, that's how irritated it is. I am taking him to the ped this afternoon after DH insisted that he go. (I think he is very nervous about his "junk" lately) Hopefully it is something that will go away easily. Unfortunately, it is not going to be an easy doctor visit especially since Lucas hates the doctor lately! I will let you know what they say!

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this. It will get better. I have a friend that contracted MRSA in the maternity ward when she had her DS. He got it too, all she told me was "in the diaper area". It took a few months but both are now healed.

my sons also reatached and had to be pulled away. Dr did it once and I did it obce, yes me, I did it...it wasnt reallt attached just kinda stuck, he ddint even cry...

oh my goodness...mrsa???? Who would have thought that?
Hopefully Chris won't freak too bad.
And hopefully the antibiotics and cream will help and quick!

Well, actually we followed DH's instincts!  I was the one who didn't want to take him to the doc! Oops!

MRSA is a very antibiotic-resistant strain of a staph infection. At least that is how I understand it!
