This is so terrible, the little girl who actually sang the song is really cute too. What else is the chinese government faking for this Olympics? Not a good way to put your "best face forward".

The whole thing is political.
I have NO DOUBT China got the Olympics because of the business potential there. Europe, USA, they all try to get into this huge market.
China wants to prove so hard that they are this emerging super power that I think it's why they are coming out with this facade of a perfect World.
The "fake" fireworks... well.. computer enhanced.
Now the little girl.
But behind all of this parade, China is still was it was. Terrorising their population, the situation in Tibet.
The fake look they want to project is not fooling anyone.

L:isten, you can't take away China's politics from the Olympics. It keeps coming through.
On an earlier post, I posted how I cannot support the Olympics this year because they are in China due to the human rights violations they perform on their own citizents and the Tibetans.
People stated that the Olympics are not about politics or the nation hosting them, but about the global competition.
But if you have a cruel nation who systematically tortures its own citizens or foreigners they took over because they have a different religious belief, it will permeate into the Olympics themselves- from hearing about this to stories about how they force little girls to compete and the insane practice sessions that are mandated for these children. Its sick.
But from a country who regularly tortures people, how can you be surprised?
My thoughts EXACTLY!!!!
There are so many reasons why the Olympics should not be in China.

Well, from the looks of at least two of thier little gymnasts, they are "faking" their ages on passports.
Look at the little one all the way to the right and tell me she is 16 or older.

There are so many reasons why the Olympics should not be in China.
One reason is the head guy's name of the International Olympic Committee is D!ck Pound, no joke.

Not so surprising really considering their human rights issues.
Also, this is a country that may have too few women in the future since little girls are not valued as much as boys and so many are given up for adoption.

just add this to the long list of everything China is doing wrong
faking fireworks at opening ceremony
no freedom of the press
didn't clean up the smog
didn't improve their human right's record
demolished houses and left people homeless to build the olympic stadiums
China was a great choice

It was political to give it to them. They want to please them in exchange for future contract I am sure.
The Olympic selection has been corrupted for years.

There is no way that some of them are 16, they look about 10. Either they are faking their ages or taking some kind of hormone suppressants.

also the fireworks of the foot prints at the opening night was fake also, computer grafics, it was really done but not that day.
