Little Village or ACDS?
I am looking for feedback on those 2 schools for either mommy and me classes and/or preschool (EI, etc...). I was told ACDS no longer just focus on Down Syndrome.
But I am looking in Austism in particular.
What are their best programs (EI, mommy and me, etc..)?
All feedback welcome. You can FM me if you prefer.

little village EI class... all the way... unless they changed, ACDS is only 3 days, and LVS is 5.... plus the facilities at LIVS are definitely better. the building is state of the art.

It does not have to be FT (5 days).

the 5 half day EI preschool class at LVS is one of hte best there is. jason did amazingly well in that class. the progress he made there was unbelievable. it was exactly what he needed when he needed it.

From my teaching experience, I feel that Little Village has more experience with children with autism.

I am the music therapist at ACDS (the one MeeshMosh was referring to). I will admit, I know nothing about Little Village, but am happy to answer any questions I can about ACDS. ACDS has 2-day and 3-day EI classes (half-day classes), and they also have a parent/child class that meets 2 days a week. It's true they no longer have only children with Down Syndrome. They have several speech and language development classes, 2 autism/PDD classes, and several integrated classes. I think the integrated classes are one of our biggest strengths- though I know this isn't exactly what you're asking about right now. When the children reach the age of 3, they can be put into a full day class which is integrated with typical children. Each of those classes has both a special ed teacher and a general ed teacher who work together. I have worked in several special ed. preschools and I do feel that ACDS provides the best services out of the ones I have experienced. I would be happy to try to answer any more specific questions you have- feel free to FM me!

I believe we met you "briefly" this morning. DS was the little blondy that came in the class for a few minutes. I "think" that was you.

We loved it! We decided to take the class on the other day offered because it worked better for us. I thought you were doing it too on the other day but found out you were not. DS loved it when you played the guitar and sang.

awww!! yes i can vouch that she is AWESOME in action... i spent the day with her at ACDS once
she will be providing music therapy for my children even if they arent special needs!! hehee

Ohh which class did you decide to join? On what day? Was it that class that I was working with when you came in, but on Tuesdays? Or was it a different class entirely?

Same class we came in and you were working in but on the other day it's offered. Jane told me you were not doing the music on the other day of the mommy and me class. I wish you did.
