Location of bed in your room

I dont know if this is a weird Q but -

Where is your bed in the room in relation to the door? We only have 2 ways we can put our bed, either on the wall across from the door or on the same wall as the door.

Are you suppose to see the bed full on when you come in the room or doesn't it matter? Do you like to see the door from your bed?

Our bed ideally works best on the same wall as the door but I dont know how I feel about it. I want to decide before we put our furniture back in bc once it's in, it will be very hard to move it.

According to HGTV, the bed is supposted to be in the far wall from the door.

according to feng shui, which I try to practice. You should try to position your bed so you can look straight at the door. ours is on the longest wall in the room, across from the door.

Ours is on the back wall of the room (house). When you walk in the door, you have a full view of it...The door is on the right wall if you are standing in the bedroom looking at the bed

I was afraid of that bc the best wall is the one where the door is located, as far as a nice fit for the furniture. But I do like to see the bed and bedding full on when I come in the room and it's probably better bc I can see if my kids are in the hall as well. I wish our bed would work on the wall that is to the left when you come in but the way the windows are situated, it's not possible.

right now ours is on the same wall as the door, but we might rearrange after we paint. i prefer to be looking at the bed when you walk in, but i don't think it really matters.

Ours is on the wall with the door. Because of where the windows and the closet are, we can't really put the bed anywhere else.

Our bed is against the wall that is to the right of the door.

according to feng shui, the bed should not be directly opposite the door, so that when you're in bed, your feet are pointing out the door. it should be over a little bit to the left or right.

my bed is against the wall across the door, but to the left a little (not directly across from the door)

We have ours on the same wall as our door. We've moved the bed a few times actually - once it was directly across from the door and then it was on a far wall (so the foot of the bed was visible from the door).

If your bed is going to be the focal point of your room, then it's probably best to have it across from the door. For us though, we actually put in a fake fireplace across from the door, so now that's the focal point. We were recreating a pic from the PB catalogue.

Ours is on the wall with the door. It is the only place it could go.

Our bed is across the door. It is actually the only wall we could place it against b/c to my left are the windows and the right is my bathroom and closet. The opposite side (where the door is located), my bed would be too flushed against the window and I dont care for that look. I like that from our living room, you can clearly see our bed.

right now ours is on the same wall as the door...not ideal, but it works nicely with the furniture right now.

Actually we may move to the second floor and convert our attic into a master suite. Oh we have plans.

tiny apartment girl here.... we have an odd shaped bedroom.... sort of a trapezoid.... the windows are parallel to the opposite wall, but the door wall and its opposite wall are at different angles. our room is also not too big....

we made a 2D version of our room (including door and window locations.... 1"=1') and our furniture..... we could then shift around all the furniture at will and make sure that we had at least 30" clearance for a walkway where necessary.... that way, we didn't have to haul our fat dressers around the room until we found the best location....

I agree with you... I would prefer the bed on a wall other than the 'door wall'. But, sometimes fat furniture wills itself to be in a specific arrangement.... c'est la vie...

Same situation here. I think you should SEE the bed from the door....I have considered otehr ways and it just doesnt seem right.

in trying to find online references to the fung shui books i have & use I actually found a good bit of conflicting info.
my books say stuff like this

Place your bed in "the king's position" -- where you can see the doorway.

Clear view of the bedroom entrance... without being in-line with door. If you're in-line with an OPEN doorway, you'll be hit directly by the Qi coming through the OPEN doorway.

Make sure when you lay in bed that you can see the incoming flow of energy when someone enters your bedroom. Otherwise, you will miss new opportunities in your career or that great partner that you wanted to meet, because you don't "see" the energy at night coming to you.

Our room is not an even square or rectangle, we have an entryway & then the room, our door is across from the bed, but not paralel to the bed.
