Logan's Baptism was yesterday, too!
He was SUCH a good boy allllll dayyyy. He was awake for half the ceremony, asleep for half. He didn't cry at all - not even when the Deacon poured the Holy water in his EYE!
I had several people at the church ask me how old he was and no one could believe he's only 8 weeks. He's big and he was so good!
I've never thrown a party on my own before, so the goal was to keep it simple, on budget, but not cheesy. We rented an American Legion hall and had catering by Uncle Giuseppe's with some supplementing from our Moms and Grandma, beer, wine and soda. We had 80 people there - purchased the catering package for 50-55 people from Uncle G's, and had 4 extra homemade dishes - and there's so much food leftover!
We blew up our own balloons with the tank they sell at Michaels (purchased with a 50% off coupon!), and weighted them with ceramic crosses from Dollar Tree. The hall has some weird metal piping going across the ceiling in 6 places, so I got some scrolly things from Cedarhurst Paper to cover them.
I had a hard time finding BOY decorations - every party store I'd been to had plenty of pink, but no blue. I ended up photoshopping a 20x30" sign and printing them at Costco. It takes an hour and it's $6. So worth it! I got compliments on them all day.
Favors were homemade chocolate bars with custom wrappers from Pippys Sweets. They're beautiful!
The cake was from Alpine Bakery in Smithtown and for the first time ever, it was WRONG when i got there to pick it up. It was periwinkle/purple! It took them 30 minutes to get it to blue/green (how it was SUPPOSED to be), which only gave me 20 minutes to get ready for the church. The mean old man in the bakery said, "This is how it is. You want it or not?!" ahhh! It ended up coming out OK- expensive for what it is, but it tasted good. 1 layer of chocolate cake, 1 layer of vanilla cake, with cannoli cream inside. I'll never get a cake there again. I think Park Bake Shop in Kings Park is just as good.
My parents bought a blanket and had his name and christening date embroidered on it. They'll add each Grandchild as they come.
My sister bought his adorable outfit at Macy's. It fit well, and he must've been comfortable in it because he didn't whine and he was in it all day. It had a little jacket that went over it, but it was warm all day yesterday so we didn't even use it.
I can't even stress how good he was all day. He was just hanging out - didn't care who he was passed to at all. He's cute AND good. How'd I get so lucky?! I guess all my praying over the toilet when I was PG and puking paid off.
(yup, that's cake)
Thanks for looking!

Beautiful Nic! He is an angel and you both did such a beautiful job on his Baptism!
So Nic, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for those with not so wonderful pregnancies?

He is so cute! And he has a stork bite right where Ronan does. When he gets pissy it still shows even now at 10 months. Looks liek a nice day

thank you! i have the same mark - so does my Dad and my Grandma! It was prominent/out all the time until we reached a year old, now it only comes out when we're hot or angry
He has another one under his hair on the back of his head, too!
