Long Island Half Marathon girls!
YAYYYY its over lol
I keep checking to see if they posted the results. I think I finished around 2:24. I'm so happy that I finished, and my shin doesn't even hurt! Well, all of my muscles are really sore, but at least the bone doesn't hurt anymore! I've been icing and stretching since I got home and that seems to be helping. Can't wait to hear how everyone did, it was so freakin hot!
ETA: just watched it on channel 612 news 12 interactive. Rosemarie, I heard them say your name!! I think you came in about 30 seconds before me! I finished at 2:24:50, Congrats!!!

Congratulations! glad that your shin didn't hurt.
It was awful out there today! I had been training for 1:48 and I barely pushed myself in at 1:59. I was just happy that I was under 2 hours.

Hey ladies OMG Jean you must have been right next to me we have like the same time. Wow it was tough out there I kept splashing water in my face and ran through the sprinkler. My foot acted up the entire 13 miles that stupid neuroma but made it though. It was so exciting now I want to do the DIVA one in October.
Erica and Jean you both did amazing congrats!

Congrats to all of you today! I can't even imagine what it was like running in that heat. Kudos to all of you! You should be sooooo proud!
I just saw that my girlfriend's husband placed 5th overall and 1st in his division at 1:16. Isn't that crazy!

Re: Long Island Half Marathon girls!
Thanks!!! It seems like they only have gun time & not chip time posted.. How annoying! I know my chip time was a couple of minutes less than what it says because I started far back in the crowd. Why don't they just post chip time, isn't that someone's "real" time anyway?

it was so beautiful today! But, thank god we at least had the cloud coverage. I don't know if I would've made it otherwise. They should set up misting stations that you can run through!

I agree they definately should have set up misting stations. I am also bitter Erica because I know I would have done better if the weather cooperated. Are any of you girls planning on doing the Diva 1/2 in Eisenhower in October. I think I am it sounds fun and girly! Yes I know I am soo corny!

I was thinking about doing it, but its only a month before NYC and I don't want to take any chances with injuries. I'm thinking of doing this Manhattan Training Run on September 5th. It's 14.2 miles and goes through the entire length of Manhattan. I'd like to do it so I can get a taste of what the marathon will be like!

I am!! I'm doing a half marathon next weekend so I'm just waiting to see how that one goes before I definitely commit to another one. But I'm 95% sure I will be doing it!

I can't do it - my next marathon is the next week.
Jean - 5 weeks is enough time for a half marathon - it's actually a giod time to test your pace. I'll be running a full marathon 4 weeks before NYCM, but I'm not planning on running NYC hard.

Re: Long Island Half Marathon girls!
Hi ladies,
I'm just seeing this post now! I am so glad it's over! I didn't quite reach my goal (under 2 hrs). I got 2.04.24. I felt great the first half and then I was struggling the whoooole rest of the way! the humidity killed me and i started tightening up bad. I would love to do the DIVA half in october but we are ttc this summer so i think i'm going to be out of the half marathon ring for a looong time. I'm kind of annoyed with myself that i waited so long to get into it since now i want to do another one fairly soon, but extending our family is more important to me. there will always be more races!! I am however looking to do a lot of 5k10ks this summer. which ones are you ladies signing up for?!
