Longer Cycles becoming suddenly shorter?

I am using the CBEFM for the second month. My cycles since December, when I came off of BCP have averaged anywhere from 38-44 days, but the last 2 have been around 38.

I am at CD10 today. I have the low fertility bars on the CBEFM. Last month, it showed high fertility for quite a few days, but I remember reading in the manual that this would happen during the first month when the machine was "getting to know me."

I am wondering when/if my cycle will become shorter. I've come to realize my cycles aren't necessarily irregular, as I used to think...they are regularly long.

Has anyone had a long cycle like me, and then it suddenly became shorter one month? I am just wondering what to expect.

Thank you!

Mine was randomly shorter this month, although I'm not sure why. Mine typically range from 32-40 days and this month I will have a 30 day cycle.

Mine typically switch off between around 32 days one month, then 40 the next. This month I was expecting a 40 day cycle but it will be much shorter.

As for coming off BCP, I'm not sure that your cycle will get shorter. As long as your luteal phase is normal (time between O and AF) and you're ovulating, you should be okay to TTC.

Thank you so much. How do you know that your cycle is going to be shorter? Is it because of the luteal phase?

Just based on when I ovulated. I'm using the CBEFM to detect ovulation, and I got my first peak on CD 14 and second peak on CD15 (which is O date), so then I will get AF 15 days after that (with my 14 day luteal phase).

Well hopefully I WON'T get AF, but that's when I'll be expecting it!

Re: Longer Cycles becoming suddenly shorter?

This happened to me... I went off BCP in November and my first few cycles were 44, 45 days. They kept getting shorter and now I am at like 31 day cycles.

With this, I am obviously O'ing earlier as well.
