looking at washing machines - to get a high efficiency or not?!?!
We are in the market for a new washer/dryer and we are so confused!!
All of the reviews I am reading are so confusing. Lots of the negative reviews about the new HE washers are that the cycles take much LONGER and there are often "balancing" issues that stop the cycle, which requires intervening.
I just want a simple-to-use machine that gets the job done.
Can you recommend your washer/dryer? i dont really care if its HE or not...just something good and not over $800each.

I have HE machines and have never had any issues that you describe.
Also I can choose what kind of cycle I want.
If I want a super quick wash, I choose that.
I have a GE washer and dryer I got at Marlin appliance in Seaford after Sandy.
They were w/in your range, in stock for delivery AND I got $$$ back in rebates.
