Looking for a new OB/GYN - Delivering at North Shore Manhasset - help!
Hello,
This is my very first post here!
My husband and are about to ttc our third child. I delivered both in Manhattan, but now need a new OB to deliver out here on the Island.
From some reading I think I would like to deliver at NS Manhasset and was looking for an OB/GYN in the Woodbury or nearby area.
I would really like one where you get ultrasounds at every visit, I had that with my previous pregnancies and NEED that for peace of mind!

They are not in Woodbury but I go to Great Neck OBGYN. LOVE THEM.
They are associated with Manhasset and all the OBs there are wonderful. Dr. Rifkin delivered DD and I couldn't have asked for a better doc

Dr. Buck-Haskin in Great Neck is my Ob-gyn. I don't know if she delivers at NS but she does deliver at LIJ.
My experience there was amazing. I live in South Shore Suffolk and if we have another baby, I would never deliver anywhere else.

Yes me too...but they don't give sono's at every appt. I see Dr.Kaufman, but dr. Rifkin was there up until I was about 7cm and then Dr. Sadaty was there for my actual delivery and they are all great.

Thank you for the replies.... how often do they give sonograms?
Also how many Dr's in the practice?
Finally... anyone have any experience with a scheduled csection at Manhasset?

I go to Richard Trongone in Manhasset right on Northern Blvd...he's only affliated with North Shore Manhasset!!! He is absolutely the best of the best! Myself and DH love him! 516-365-2500

Im crashing here - but i second Dr. Rifkin and the Great Neck Practice. Dr. Rifkin delivered both my girls - love him!
The other doctors in the practice are also great.

I go to Dr Harvey at Pro Health OBGYN in Lake Success. There are 5 doctors in the practice, they are all fantastic!
It's not so close to Woodbury but its right off Northern State so the drive wouldn't be so crazy.
Google Pro Health Lake Success and the link for the website will come up.
And they deliver at North Shore Manhasset

I agree, Pro Health is great! Dr. Davidson delivered both DC via c-section (one planned/one induction turned c-section) at NS Manhasset. Dr. Davidson has amazing bed side manner and is really sweet.

I see Dr. Alkasab in Great Neck. I have had an ultrasound on almost every visit.
This is a practice of four people, but she is by far the sweetest. They say the men are the best because this is a high risk place too, but I prefer her.

Just responding on the amount of sono's...I had one at 8w, 12w, 19w, 31w...I also had one at 40+w b/c I was overdue...all the other appointment in between they check for the babies heartbeat with the doppler.

I use this office as well. One of the Dr's in the practice is the head of gynecology @ North Shore. Another Dr. in the office is one of the top in the area for high risk pregnancies & he even delivered J-Lo's twins. Two dotcots in this office were just named in New York magazine's top doctors of 2010 issue.
I have been VERY happy with this office & all doctors are nice, knowledgable and take their time when seeing you. FM me if you would like their info!

Hi - just to update this...
I called Great Neck OBGYN and they didn't take my insurance - which surprised me as its really good!
So I called Preferred Women's health - they have offices in Great Neck and Woodbury - so that is better for me.
Hopefully this is the best of both worlds - a close office and the hospital I want!

I see Dr. Prince at Preferred in Woodbury- he's awesome and delivered my son. All the dr.s there are great but they don't do sonos at every visit. But you'll love them anyway, great dr.s!

I don't think that it is the same Great Neck Office. They are accross the street at 900 Nothern Blvd. My friend sees the Dr. who delivered J-Lo's kids.
Dr. Alkasab is in a differen toffice.
