Looking for a nice, cheap, metal bed
So I sold my old wooden bed. It started to creek a few years after owning it and it was really annoying me.
I want to get some type of metal bed. I was in Bob's on Saturday and they had a few, but they were all in the 400-800 dollar range. I need a king size and would like to get something on the cheap if possible.
The big issue I have, I am trying to get something that has a headboard but no footboard. Most of the beds I saw had both and it would annoy me to pay for a headboard+footboard and just use one of them.
The bedroom I sleep in isn't too big, so so not having a big footboard makes the room look so much larger.
Does anybody have any recommendations? I am going to look through craigslist later today. I just need the frame, already have a mattress.
TIA.

I would try JCPenney.com
I ordered a metal frame + headboard for my spare bedroom and it was so inexpensive and really great quality!
My Mom just ordered two twin headboards from there and they look great.

We got a headboard and footboard from there about 1 year ago. So far, it has held up well.

Those look interesting. Is that online only or can you pick up at a store?

Try Furnakit - I think they sell the headboard and footboard separate and they have cheap prices.

No but that's my next stop. One thing I noticed Ikea beds are designed to not use box springs. Are the metal beds the same over there?
I should probably make a trip over to Broadway Mall today.

I like this one from IKEA. It seems pretty sturdy in the store. We're thinking about getting it for our guest room.

I was going to suggest the Ikea one. I think it's really pretty.

Re: Looking for a nice, cheap, metal bed
I got mine 2 years ago from JCpenny's i should have had it delivered to the store and picked up but i didn't realize it was an option till it was too late. the shipping cost almost $100 for a $200 bed. oh well, but live and learn ship it to the store, its less then half that.
