Looking for a video camera for when baby is born?
Anyone have a recommendation for a good video camera?? DH and I wanted to get one to capture some cute moments with our baby.
Can anyone recommend one they really like?

My girlfriend just bought her husband the Kodak Zi8 for his b-day.
It is perfect...small enought to throw into your diaper bag & carry with you, inexepnsive $180 & shoots great.
We are definately buying this in a few months.

My girlfriend just bought her husband the Kodak Zi8 for his b-day.
It is perfect...small enought to throw into your diaper bag & carry with you, inexepnsive $180 & shoots great.
We are definately buying this in a few months.

does that one have zoom?
i was looking at one at Best Buy and it was awesome but had no zoom..which can get frustrating but I believe they make a model with a zoom feature...

we just got the Kodak Zi8 as well. Haven't tried it out yet but I did tons of research/reviews and decided this one was better than the more popular Flip cameras. This shoots in 1080 HP and has better zoom than the Flip. Also can record up to 10 hours - I forget how much Flip can record but not nearly as much. Your battery would run out before 10 hrs but still...good to know it can store that much.
Question though and maybe I should post this on the Parenting thread....is this video camera enough? My sisters tell me this is just good for quick little videos that I'll want to share with people on email or facebook. They think I need to get a bigger one that I can play on a DVD player........anyone have thoughts on that? I can plug the Kodak Zi8 into my TV and watch it that way...just not sure I need more than this?

hmm I'll have to look into that camera, I was going to suggest a Canon. We haven't started looking yet, but my digital is a canon and we love it so naturally I was going to look into a Canon for video.

We got a Sony Handycam camcorder with hard drive. It stores 60 GB of video. I love it!

I like the little flip cameras but we bought a real canon camcorder before DD was born a few years ago, LOVE IT! it is not flip small but it is a much better quaility picture and camera. I love it! FYI: It fits in my purse for on the go.

We have a FLIP HD and we love it! So easy to use, very compact so it fits right into your diaper bag, and it does have the zoom that you're looking for. If I remember correctly, it was priced around $200.
