Looking for Names....books vs. web
Will I find anything different in books - vs. searching the web??
Any good sites or books that you would recommend that contains more than just the typical lists??
I feel like I keep seeing all the same stuff....

what about looking in books that you've read....movies you've really liked...for a character that resonated for moved you and get your name that way.
I've always liked the name Lucian...it's a derivitive of Lucius, which was the young son of the Emperor's sister in Gladiator...the name just stuck with me.
when dh suggested Lucian, it was a no brainer for me.
for girls, we like Luciana (see above) and also Alessandra (a spin on my brother's middle name and also I just like it) and same with Sofia.
the boys middle name will be Paolo, after my favorite soccer player 
in essense, we looked to our favorite people, characters, and things rather than baby books, so the names mean a bit more to us.

I found more on the web just by searching message boards (the nest Baby Names board, parentsconnect.com, etc) and going through people's name lists on babynames.com.

i think the web has just as much, if not more, than books. the interactive sites are more fun than books too, imo. i also agree with the ap who suggested movies and other ways of finding names that are meaningful to you.
