Looking for some good recipes that can go in the freezer
Baked zitis Chicken parm Lasagna OR other suggestions
Thank you for sharing!!!
I want to make a few meals that I can freeze in meal or individual portions for after I give birth. I am sure I won't feel like cooking.
TIA

i make stuffed shells all the time and freeze them.... we get like 4 meals out of one batch i just make the shells and don't put sauce on them... then, when i want to eat them i take out a few of the frozen shells, put sauce on them and bake them very easy!

Re: Looking for some good recipes that can go in the freezer
sausage & peppers in a red sauce...I have a recipe if you would like.
beef stew
anything that has a sauce of some type.
I've done stir fry but the veggies get a little soft.
meatloaf! Cook it and put the whole darned thing in the freezer!
Oh...the crockpot chicken that scarletbegonia posted awhile back....it's a very light lemony kind of chicken...good with rice!
pancakes or waffles bagels
You can also chop up fresh veggies (peppers and onions) and freeze them in ziplocs to use when needed (I do this)

Re: Looking for some good recipes that can go in the freezer
I make baked rigatoni w/sausage and freeze it. You can either freeze a tray or smaller portions. And it reheats well.
1 pound rigatoni (cooked to directions and drained) 1-15 oz container of ricotta cheese 1 jar of spaghetti sauce (about 3 cups) 1 cup mozzerella cheese shredded 1/2 cup onion chopped 1 pound hot or sweet italian sausage (i like to use turkey sausage)
Brown the sausage in a pan on the stove (you can boil them for a bit to make them cook faster) whole and then cut up and cook through.
Add the onion to the pan and brown.
Combine the cooked pasta, the ricotta cheese and the sausage/onion.
Place 1 cup sauce in bottom of large baking dish (i think mine is 13x9), layer the pasta mixture, sauce and mozz cheese in the pan. Sprinkle with parmasan cheese if you like. Bake at 400F covered with foil for 20 min and additional 5 min uncovered until hot.
If my friend/relative were expecting, I would make this for them and bring it over.
