Looking for some 'tried and true' slow cooker recipes...
I'm always stumped at what to make for dinner and with my 4 1/2 month old I think slow cooker meals would be convenient. I prefer trying 'tried and true' recipes as opposed to trying some random find from a online search. Thanks for sharing!!!

I always make this one... DH calls it "Italian Chicken Soup"
1 pkg boneless skinless chicken breasts 1 box frozen mixed veggies 1 vidialia onion, chopped 1 zucchini, cut up 32oz chicken broth 1 large can diced tomatoes Italian seasoning and pepper to taste
Cut the chicken up into bite sized pieces. Put all the ingredients in the crockpot. Cook on low for 7 hours.
Serve over some kind of little pasta (mini bowties are great!)

Pork with Apples:
1 pkg pork tenderloin (normally 2 pieces in it) 1 large onion (rough chop) 5-6 apples ( i like McIntosh), peeled, cored and wedged 1/2 c apple sauce cinnamon granulated garlic (or garlic powder) black pepper 3 tbs brown sugar
Sprinkle pork all over with cinnamon, garlic powder and black pepper then place in crock pot. Add remaining ingredients to pot. Cook on low for 8 or more hours (or high for shorter time). Great served with mashed potatoes. Sauce is thin, I like to strain it out and thicken on stove with some corn starch then throw it back in.
Pulled Pork
1 pkg pork tenderloin (normally 2 pieces in it) 1/2 of large bottle of your fav BBQ sauce
Put pork in crock pot... pour 1/2 of the BBQ sauce over it (1/4 bottle). Cook on low for 8 or more hours (or high for shorter time). Once ready to eat, spoon out extra liquid if there is too much, and stir in remaining BBQ sauce.
Pepper steak
1 pkg cubed beef stew meat 1 red pepper 1 green pepper 1 - 2 onions, sliced 3 cloves garlic, chopped black pepper pinch crushed red pepper (optional)
Throw it all in, mix it, Cook on low for 8 or more hours (or high for shorter time).
Chicken Cacciatore
4 - chicken breasts 1 - onion 1 - red pepper, chopped super small (I use mini chopper) 1 - onion, chopped 1 carrot, grated 1 cup white wine 3 or so gloves of garlic, chopped black pepper pinch of basil
Throw it all in, mix it, Cook on low for 8 or more hours (or high for shorter time). serve over pasta.
Beef Stew
1 pkg of cubed chuck steak/stew meat (roll it in flour and add to pot) 1 can beef broth 4 potatoes peeled and cubed baby carrots 1 chopped onion couple cloves garlic chopped black pepper. splash of Worcestershire sauce
i added frozen peas for the last 20-30 minutes
oh... and Chili! 1 pkg ground turkey 1 large can tomato puree or crushed tomatoes 1 green pepper, chopped 1 red pepper, chopped 1 jalepeno, chopped (optional) 1 large onion, chopped 3 cloved garlic chopped 1 can kindney beans, rinsed and drained 1 can refried beans black pepper chili powder ground cumin chipotle chili powder, optional
throw it all in the pot, low 8-10 hours. you will have to break up the meat a little before serving.

I literally make this ALL the time. It's super easy.
Spicy Shredded Chicken
3 boneless chicken breasts 1 can diced tomatoes 1 can black beans14oz chicken broth 1.5 teaspoon cumin, garlic, onion powder, salt 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper ( to taste)
Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or high for 6. About an hour before serving, shred the chicken and continue cooking. Serve over pasta or rice.
