Biden already said that he will not redecorating the Oval Office any time soon. He said he has too much work to do! Maybe he secretly likes the gold lol.
Most men will just leave it up the wives as they are not interested in that type of thing.
Ahh... sexism.... gotta love it...
There are plenty of men who like to design the room they spend a lot of time in.
Or at least to get the aura of the previous guy out of the room.
I designed and decorated the majority of our house.
Did you live in the house by yourself before you were married? I can see decorating a man cave.
No. Again, that's sexist to even think that. Why is it that hard to believe that men can decorate, and women are OK with their men decorating? How is gender and spousal role stereotyping OK? And you keep trying to encourage the sexism, and fit it into your idea of the world, which doesn't exist for the rest of us. Some of the best and most famous interior designers in the world are men.
Thank you for being here!!!!

Re: Looking forward to seeing the updated Oval Office
https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/20/politics/inside-joe-biden-oval-office/index.html
A portrait of Andrew Jackson, to the left of the seat at the Resolute Desk, has been replaced with a portrait of Benjamin Franklin by Joseph Duplessis.
The Washington Post, which got a first look at the Oval's new interior decorations, reported that the Franklin portrait and a nearby moon rock set are meant to represent Biden's interest in science.
A bronze bust of Latino civil rights leader Cesar Chavez, created by artist Paul Suarez, was also placed on the credenza behind his desk. Chavez sought to bring awareness to the harsh conditions of farmworkers in the US and fight for better wages. The prominent inclusion of his bust in the West Wing came the same day that Biden proposed immigration legislation that would allow undocumented farmworkers to qualify to apply for green cards immediately. Julie Chavez Rodriguez, the labor leader's granddaughter, is Biden's director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.
Though not entirely visible to television cameras, the Post reported that "busts of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy flank a fireplace in the office" -- in an apparent nod to their efforts in the civil rights movement. There are also busts of Rosa Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt and an Allan Houser sculpture depicting a horse and Chiricahua Apache rider.
During the executive order signing on Wednesday, Biden was seated in a tufted, dark brown leather chair -- a switch from the thick, reddish brown executive seat Trump was last photographed sitting on inside the Oval Office. It was extremely similar, if not identical to the seat Trump used in his private office before becoming president. The Bidens selected at least two Clinton-era furnishings to replace Trump's selections -- a blue Oval Office rug with a floral trim and darker gold curtains, according to the Post. Other items, which may look familiar, were chosen from the White House collection, the Post says.
Photographs behind the President typically displayed on the credenza were switched out to feature Biden's family. Many of the images show just how large the President's family is, and the images include many of the family members who accompanied him in Washington on Inauguration Day. At least one photograph features his late son, Beau.

Re: Looking forward to seeing the updated Oval Office
I have to admit that I am not a fan of his choices. I am glad he changed the curtains (edit: he didn’t they were used by Clinton and Trump); the ones before were ugly. I really dislike the rug and the couches (same as Trump’s and I think from W originally). They look dated. I feel like I am in my grandma’s house. I HATE the rug. I know it is Clinton’s but I just don’t like it.
I like light styles and very minimalist. That rug just sucks the life out. I loved Obama’s office and his couches and wallpaper.
The floor underneath is beautiful, but I understand that they need a rug.
And I know it’s got a lot of history, but the Resolute desk isn’t my favorite. I like the C&O desk.
But at least he changed the artwork!
(I had a lot of time to look at different oval offices today )

Yep, just likensome men take a vested interest in their living space and the maintenance of it and like to cook and care about their appearance and spend hours getting ready before they go out... There are women who don't care for any of that. Aren't interested in putting "womanly" touches in a home or fashion and makeup or cooking and cleaning and organizing or child rearing or other traditional wife roles.
Valentines, you're a walking stereotype

I wish I liked decorating, I just am not interested. My husband does love to vacuum and mop though. He also takes more of an interest in it

Re: Looking forward to seeing the updated Oval Office
I don't like the couches but I like the rug a lot - the royal blue is sharp looking. The curtains are fine.
My favorite in that montage is the elder Bush with the lighter colors, though.
I do like decorating but I never gave any thought to the Oval Office at all for some reason.

They literally said that they "fumigated" the White House before Biden moved in. Rightfully so.

I actually don’t mind Trump’s with the exemption of the couches, they were hideous! I wonder if Biden is gonna make any significant changes.
