Can you recommend your pre paid cell please. How much does it cost and where can I get it? Tia

Re: Looking to cut expenses. Pre paid cell phone
Straight Talk is great. $30 a month for 1000 minutes 1000 texts and web, or $45 for unlimited. After taxes I pay $33 a month. Runs on AT&T or Verizon networks. You can get a phone online or at Walmart. If you fan them on facebook, they often have free phones w/ the purchase an airtime card. LOVE the service, have never had any issues at all. Took less than 24 hours to port my number to them from AT&T

Check out Metro PCS (no contract) Virgin Mobile Boost Mobile
See if you qualify for free phone service through Assurance (I believe that's it)

What do you currently have and what do you pay for it? There are a lot of options, but I think it's important to find out what you have now and what you need to have in order to find the best option for you.

Some LG thing and I just recently got a free Samsung one with a keyboard since I needed the $30 card anyway. Sorry I don't know the names, not a technie LOL. They have a variety of phones though

LOL - that's okay. I'm just excited that you can port your existing number (I didn't think you could) so I may take a closer look at going this route!
Do you lose the unused mins/texts?

Re: Looking to cut expenses. Pre paid cell phone
I have Virgin Mobile a pre-pay and have had it for a while. I had to buy my phone, but the last phone I had for at least 5 years, I think it was closer to 7, I just don't remember. I think they have a range of phones, costwise and I have bought mine at Target.
I have an old plan, which I am not sure they offer anymore. I only have to add $20 to my phone every 3 months and I pay for calls/texts per minute. It is perfect for me, because I really don't use it that much and the only time I have to add more than the $20 per 3 months if I am on vacation or something usual is happening - picking up people at the airport, when we were moving, etc.
I used to have a cheap monthly plan, but with all the taxes, it was still costing me $30-40 per month and I didn't need all the minutes.

Yes, you use them or lose them. That's why I only do the 1,000 a month plan, because I don't text or talk that often. I do check my email all day on my phone, and I've never run out of MB for the internet portion.
