Looks like Another Round of Photodynamic Therapy/Isolation in the black hole again!!!!
WEll....after surviving that excrutiating experience called photodynamic therapy, I'll be having another treatment in a couple of weeks.
My MD thinks it is necessary, actually, the research shows that three treatments works best. I just hope it's not as painful as before.
She is going to go ahead with the treatment if she sees nothing suspicious on me. If I have any suspicious or questionable sites, she'll biopsy and then we have to wait.
Not looking forward to the separation again from my family, and def. not looking forward to the pain.
Hopefully this will be easier.

what is that? I think my mom was going to do that...is that where they inject you with a light sensitive dye and you have to stay in the house?

Photodynamic therapy is used to treat different cancers.
For pre-cancerous basal cell/squamous cells on the skin, they put a light sensitive cream on you, and you "incubate" with it for anywhere 1-3 hours (I did 3 hours last time), The cream is absorbed by the sundamaged/precanceous cells, and then you sit in front of a BLU-LIGHT, which activates the medication, and kills those sundamaged/precancerous cells.
Then you have to sit in the dark for two days because the medication is still in your body. You are sensitive to light for one month after (can be outside, etc. but must wear wide brimmed hats, major sunscreen, etc...I do that regardless).
I've heard of photodynamic cancer with esophageal cancer and other forms where they inject the meds in your body, but I don't know anything else...I'm only familiar with it's use in terms of skin cancers.
This photodynamic therapy is also used to treat acne, but you don't sit in front of the BLU-LIGHT very long, I think only 6 min.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Hopefully, it will be less painful. Did you say it would hurt less as you have less spots that the treatment is working on?
