Any tricks? My DS is still flipping out about getting toe nails trimmed. It turns into this big ordeal. Help!

Oh...he's 3.5, no high chair anymore. I have tried to explain to him that we all need to do this. Ive reassured that it wont hurt, but he starts saying ow the moment I touch his foot!

lord help me! TOE NAILS
I either sit DS on front of TV or just sing " this little piggy went to the market" and try to be as quick as I can.

Don't know if he still naps, but that's the only way I can get my 22 month old DDs nails cut.

Re: lord help me! TOE NAILS
I know how you feel. DS will be 4 soon and it's a nightmare to cut his toenails. Sometimes some time passes and then I notice... Gross! Time to cut them. Hands are fine. Usual Y do it while he's watching tv or I give him my iPhone or iPad. Won't do that with his toes bc he flips out and move around. Don't wan him throwing it by mistake.
Best time I do it now is after bath. He will lay on my bed and I just tell him I am going to do it not to trick him. Before he can say no I just start and have to hold him down a bit. Do it mega fast and then he calms I say I'm done and he gets my iPad or something just to get him to forget the moment.

Re: lord help me! TOE NAILS
I started to pretend that we had to get the animals out of their toenails/fingernails. Someone on here gave me the idea. So I would meeee-oowww when cutting the first one. Then say mooooo for the next one, and so on.
But when all else fails, I do it in front of the tv so they are more distracted.

That is cute!
DS is 3.5 too & does the same thing... ow...ow...it hurts. Eventually I can do them with no problem.
I swear - every day it's something new with him.
