Wow. This post is sad. Yes her parents did something wrong but outside of make some idiotic comments on you tube what has this girl ever done to you that you would be happy that her career is ruined? And yes I say career because believe it or not creating a make up line and maintaining her YouTube channel actually was probably a lot harder work than my babysitting gigs and job in fast food when I was a kid.

Yes, of course everyone that did something wrong should be punished appropriately but she was a minor when this took place and probably had absolutely no idea the magnitude of how wrong what her parents were doing was. She was a child. Not to mention all of these comments generalizing her and her sister, do any of you know anything about them other than what you have read on small blurbs online? Please, I would love to live in the glass house you all dip. Just because their parents are wealthy does
not mean you need to crucify them.

This girl is young and she probably feels like her life is over and here you are, a group of grown women rejoicing in the fact that she is being punished so heavily for being born into a wealthy family to parents who made some really bad mistakes.

Say anything you want about the adults but these girls are barely adults. Leave them out of it.

Here's the thing...I think based on her accomplishments (scoring all those instagram followers and establishing a "brand") she would've gotten in with even subpar SAT scores. I just don't think she would've had trouble. I'm dismayed that there is even such a thing as a "social media influencer," but I am sure that would be an impressive leadership quality that the college admissions would take into consideration (in addition to her famous parents).

Sorry, not buying it. She's a spoiled and entitled college student. She's not a child. She's not stupid. She knew. I'm glad that she's dealing with consequences.

I hate to break it to you but there are 1000s of spoiled entitled college students. You think this is the appropriate punishment for going along with something that her parents told her to do? They probably told her it was no big deal. People are just so quick to crucify as if no one ever made a mistake or did something stupid. If the mistakes I made in high school caused me this much humiliation I would probably be suicidal to be honest. And people are commenting that she should kill herself. She hasn’t even been charged with a crime and believe me if the FBI thought she was a complicit adult they would charge her. So basically you all are saying this is the appropriate punishment for being a rich spoiled brat.

Oh Cry me a fukkin river. So she doesn't get to have her own makeup line with daddy's money...Yes, I think it's the appropriate punishment. She could be a guinea pig deterrent for future spoiled kids.
She should go to a college she can get into, work hard, come out and get a job and pay her dues like the rest of us. She's not in prison; she's in the real world. Some punishment, huh?

Ha! Because I am SURE that everyone on here would just not take a dime from their very wealthy parents at the ripe old age of 18.

As a matter of fact her dad didn’t but her her make up line. She entered a deal with Sephora and they produced it if you research it correctly. And she has actually be working since she was 14. She didn’t even want to go to college. She was forced into it by her parents. And now everything she worked towards was destroyed by this. I’m not saying you have to feel sorry for her but some of the comments on here from grown women picking on a 19 year old are crazy. And we teach our kids not to bully.

I don't think anyone on here is hating these girls. I just don't think many feel sorry for them. I can't speak for one but Olivia comes across as a self centered entitled, spoiled brat.

Saying f*ck these douchbags they deserve it referring to the girls, telling them to make a sec tape and rejoicing that she lost all her sponsorships. I would call that hating.

I see your point there. But I'm still not shedding a tear. Tell them to visit their mom's high school (she's from Suffolk) and see real kids busting their a$$es studying and working after school jobs and applying for financial assistance and still getting their dreams busted. I just get the impression these girls are so out of touch with reality.

Of course they are out of touch with reality. We all would be if we grew up how they did but that wasn’t their choice. They are just getting out into the real world now and haven’t been given an opportunity to make their own life choices.

And again I am not saying anyone needs to feel sorry for them but I would hope if I did something stupid people wouldn’t refer to my daughters as douchbags and tell them to make a sex tape. And even worse, not here but on other sites, telling her she should kill herself. These are grown women acting like 6th grade bullies. It’s shameful. I’m pretty sure they have been humiliated at a level none of us can relate to. I’m pretty sure they’ve paid the price for whatever they knew about what their parents were involved in.

Well that was unclear considering the next line was about hoping she applied enough contour clearly referring to the one with the makeup vlog. Which is the kid. It’s fine, you can say whatever you want I just personally think you sound like an a** hole when you are going off on someone that’s barely an adult because she was born into a wealthy family and her parents made a mistake. You know absolutely nothing about this girl. Do a little research and you will actually find out she was never into school but she’s been working her a** off since she was 14, especially because she didn’t want to have to rely on anyone else. Her parents actually pissed away her opportunities with this one dumb move. I feel sorry for her. If I had been working as hard as her in my teenage years I would be livid right now. You sound like you have a huge chip on your shoulder resenting children just because of the wealth and status of their parents. From what i understand neither of these girls have been in any trouble, no drugs, no DUIs, no cheating in high school etc. I don’t really understand that because I came from absolutely nothing. My family was as blue collar as you get, I worked hard and was very successful and just because my kids have certain privileges that I did not does not mean that they are working any less hard than I did and that they don’t deserve to have success just because they won’t face the same obstacles that I did. I don’t know, this is a rambling post but it just really gets under my skin when people seem to take pleasure in someone else’s pain, no matter what they did. And in this case especially when not one of you know more about these people than the one or two articles you’ve read online.

I think this is done all the time by Alumni from any college USA. Big donors equal the same and I dont doubt that many on LI are doing the same for their kids. This reminded me of the Soprano episode when Meadow was applying and Carmela had lunch with "recruiters from schools" asking for donations, then she "threatened" her neighbors sister an Atty for a good recommendation.

adding, the daughter sort of ratted her parents out I read what she said on a talk show. By how she was speaking she didnt come off very educated.
Both of her parents had no formal college education and did well for themselves.

as far as being out of touch with reality. Coming from well to do parents is not the problem.....

The contour was a reference to the celebrity status, not to anyone in particular. And not sure when this became about YOU?? Yeah, you do sound like you're rambling because I'm not sure what point you're trying to even make. I don't think anyone talked about the children of successful parents who WORKED HARD THEMSELVES in spite of having advantages. What I said was I don't agree with these kids buying their way in and taking the place of a more deserving student who lacks the same advantages but doesn't have parents who can wave bags of money around. Are you saying a wealthy kid who can't be accepted based on their own merit should take the place of an eligible middle or lower class student just because their parents can pay people off?? Not sure what you're even getting at, but if I sound like an asshole you don't sound like much better.

And her parents happened to make a mistake?? A mistake is using salt instead of sugar in a recipe. Bribery? Fraud? Felony charges? Much more serious than a mere mistake. "Sorry officer, we had no idea we weren't supposed to photoshop our kid's head onto the rowing team and bring bags of money to the SATs and college board."

And I do not resent children who come from wealthy means. When did I say that?? Is it not a fact that kids from wealthy families have more opportunities than kids who don't?

My whole point is that calling her kids douchbags is inappropriate. I went back and reread your post and you are talking about the kids the entire time so it’s slightly confusing where it turns back to the parents. Definitely seems like you are referring to the kids in that comment. Glad you were only calling the parents douchbags.

I’m just not one to rake someone over the coals when I don’t know them or their circumstances and I would never presume to know them based on something I read online or see in a clip on the news. To each his own.

Lori Loughlin, best known for her role as Aunt Becky on

I really do not see why this is such big news. It's not like it never happened before. I graduated 30 years ago and people were taking SATs for other students all the time. There were movies about it. I knew quite a few people when I was working who had their Daddy pay for them to get into college. Do I think it is right. Absolutely not. Do I think the parents should be punished. Sure but I think the Universities should be punished more for allowing it to happen because you know they knew. As far as the girls, I don't think they should be punished for what their parents did, other then getting kicked out of the school. To take away their endorsements and penalizing them is really taking it to far.

Re: Lori Loughlin, best known for her role as Aunt Becky on "Full House," is among dozens charged in the "largest ever" college recruitment scam.

While I can't be sure that ALL of the kids knew what they were doing (or their parents were doing) was illegal, how are you going to tell me that Lori Loughlins daughters did not know they weren't actually on the crew team? They posed for fake pics for goodness sake!! You'll be hard pressed to prove they were not 100% in support of the fraud. And at 18 or 19, you are well aware of right and wrong.

So yeah, I have no sympathy for them or any privileged kid who gets something by way of fraud. They DO deserve this.

And some of those kids had to know they didn't actually take the SATs.

Not sure why I am even bothering but if you read the affidavit and research the charges they didn’t photoshop their heads they have pictures of them on a rowing machine. I have never been on crew and I’ve used a rowing machine. As far as pretending to be on the team I am just saying if my parents said “hey, we have a connection at the school and they have some spots on the crew team so if you go out for crew, you increase your chance of getting into the school” I might believe it. I would doubt the parents told them they were paying $500k but my inclination is to see the good in people and not judge when I don’t know all the facts. I would say I am clearly in the minority here for the amount of people who rush to judgement on this site. Not just on this post but on everything. I also believe that many posters take everything they read at face value and don’t dig deeper to figure out the facts. Until it’s proven otherwise I would not say someone deserves to have this much punishment. They haven’t even been charged with a crime. The parents you can clearly see from what’s in the affidavit knew what they were doing.

And I think anyone that profits from fraudulent activity should be punished. Not sure why the term privileged even applies.

Obviously the term privileged applies. They have $500k that most American's don't have and used it to fraudulently get their kids into a school they they couldn't get into on their own. It's pathetic all the way around on their part. You have kids who put their blood sweat and tears into trying to get into state schools and can barely get financial aid.

Celebs will not get my sympathy on this no matter how you try to spin it Lulululu. My compassion and empathy is reserved for people who deserve it, not people who think they deserve it because they got caught doing something illegal because they are rich.

Obviously we don't have ALL the facts yet but for those who think this is the same as a rich person just giving a school a donation... its not. They have RACKETEERING charges!!! Here's the definition of racketeering..
Racketeering refers to crimes committed through extortion or coercion. A racketeer attempts to obtain money or property from another person, usually through intimidation or force.

Not to mention money laundering charges too... These are serious charges and they absolutely should have been arrested and do jail time

People don't like to read first, that's why we keep seeing the comments " oh, but donations have been made by wealthy parents for years" . they have no idea how this is completely different.
