Love or hate your cell service?

Who do you use for your cell phone service and do you love it or hate it?

Our plan with T-Mobile is up in a few months and we want to switch to something with better coverage. DH is all over Suffolk for his job and he's tired of too many dead zones - including our house half the time. We're trying to decide who to try next.

we have verizon. it's pretty good.

i used to have sprint and i had so many dead zones that i switched to verizon.

Wireless service is the bane of my existence.

We ordered Razr phones last July with T-mobile service. I have been with:

MCI Wireless

AT&T which became Cingular and service became awful almost instantly

DH was with Sprint which is now Nextel

Prior to T-mobile we had Verizon on a family share plan and we had nothing but problems with Verizon and the LG VX6100 phones we had I even filed a complaint with the NY State Attorney General's Office against Verizon. The service was awful for us and the phones we had were even worse We terminated our contract.

We had to exchange both LG phones after only a few months of use and the replacement phones (allegedly new) were awful too. They both cut off for no reason when the phone is closed after a call. They keep saying it's a software issue and keep the phones for about an hour once a month to "update" software DH got a new battery and it died within like an hour. But he did leave it charging overnight (phone was off). Overcharging does kill the battery to the tune of $40 for a new battery.

The last straw was when I was telling a friend at work about my cell phone issues while sitting at the office. I had finished a call with a friend and it cut off while I was explaining to my coworker that it cuts off for no reason We went with T-mobile (free trial period with new numbers) and after we tested out the phones and service we cancelled the Verizon contract. Many of my friends and coworkers have T-mobile and it works well for them all in NYC.

The problems with Verizon had been happening off and on since December 05 according to the Verizon records. I had forgotten how long we had been having the same problem The customer service is just wretched at Verizon The most helpful anyone has ever been was offering to get us new phones - for a reduced fee if we signed up for 2 more years.

All Verizon customer service ever did was have me remove the battery and tell them the color of the stickers inside (checking for water damage). There is no water damage - just defective phones. And when we took them to Verizon to be checked they always say it's software and keep our phones for an hour or so to update them. And the problems happened again

We got new phones in August 05 (contract started in February 05). The new phones were crap too and kept shutting off for no reason. DH had a new battery and it died within like 30 minutes on a full charge.

The option Verizon offered - pay $50 each for a new phone since our 1 year warranty is up I do not get it either since we got new phones in August 05 and it was clearly not August 06 when I wanted to replace the phones They counted the warranty for the phone starting on the contract date not on the date we actually got the phones

And get this, we could get free phones if we sign a new TWO YEAR agreement with Verizon Why would anyone lock into crappy service along with bad customer service for an additional 2 years

I think it's the phones and maybe not Verizon service. DH thinks it's Verizon service since his friend with T-mobile gets a signal in places where DH cannot using his Verizon phone.

Either way, we moved to T-mobile and got great service with our Razr phones for a while. DH's phone did give him problems in June 2007 and he got a replacement. The replacement RAZR ended up being defective and DH got a new RAZR last week. Sof ar so good. My RAZR has never given me a problem.

By the way, T-mobile is much cheaper than Verizon

Oh yeah, I have Verizon for work and my blackberry service works in a lot of places my T-mobile phone does not work (Pennsylvania). We do have dead zones with both Verizon and T-mobile in our apartment but the phones do work in the apartment.

I have AT&T and am planning to switch to Verizon in a couple of months when my contract is up. I have no problems with AT&T but most of my friends have Verizon and you don't get charged minutes if you are talking to another Verizon customer.

I have Verizon and generally it is ok. There are some dead areas, but it seems like most phones are dead in these areas as well. I use Samsung phones and they seem to work fine. I've had verizon for 8 years now!!

Cingular (AT&T) and HATE it. Constantly have no service and tons of dropped calls

Verizon - it's OK I haven't had any problems with them it's just my Razor phone battery that sucks, you only have to look at it and it needs to recharge

Verizon, and I have very few dropped calls, and coverage in most places.

However, compared to my friends who have t mobile, my bill is much higher for the same plan.

I love T-mobile. DH has AT&T and hates it.
