Low Placenta and Bed Rest

is there anyone going through or has gone through this? I am 17weeks and on complete bedrest. Have been for the past 2 weeks and am going ot of my mind with boredom.

I have 3 boys already (ages 11, 7, and 4) and a DH who works nights so it is almost impossible to stay in bed...but I try.

My low placenta is a little scary. I never had this with any of my other pregnancies. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Re: Low Placenta and Bed Rest

Do u mean placenta previa? I am 22 w now and just a couple weeks ago did it resolve. At 14w I had bleeding and did bed rest for a week. I was soooo scared! Luckily it did resolve as the baby grew and the plavcenta has moved away from the cervix. Most go away around 20ish weeks I think.

Re: Low Placenta and Bed Rest

so you just have low lying placenta?

i don't see why you'd be on bedrest for that.

I had it, but was put on pelvic bedrest for 2 months. But that's it.

It eventually moved. Chat Icon

Re: Low Placenta and Bed Rest

I had placenta Previa with this prenancy and was put on Pelvic rest. Why are you on Bed rest so early? I didn't have issues with my first pregnancy either, and had all kinds of issues with this one.
If you makes you feel better, my placenta Previa moved up completely at 24 weeks. I here that its very common that it does move.

Re: Low Placenta and Bed Rest

I also have had bleeding with this pregnancy. I believe this is why he put me on bed rest. Not everyday but some days were very heavy. I go back to the dr tomorrow so we will see what if anything has changed

I have the same issue. Bleeding non-stop and placenta previa and started bedrest very early. I've gonna back and forth from pelvic rest, modified bed rest and complete bed rest. I have a 2 year old with PDD so its nearly impossible.

I had it also at 14 weeks and was put on modified bed rest. It's impossible when you have other children at home. Try not to lift anything, and just take it easy.
