Low Testosterone in DH
Our Fertility Urologist just called us & said that after the extensive bloodwork they did, DH's testosterone level is 215 (should greater then 300) & his free testosterone is 1.8 (should be 5)
He wants us to schedule an appt to go over treatment? What will this be???
Also we are seeing a RE on Friday, won't he basically take this over & we won't have to see the Urologist???
I am so confused

Re: Low Testosterone in DH
No, my DH's urologist handles all issues related to MF. The only thing my RE does is the pre-ivf blood work on DH and sperm washing and ICSI. Otherwise if DH has any other issues they are handled by the urologist- Good luck!!!

Re: Low Testosterone in DH
My DH had similar results...his first T levels came back as 208...that is way too low.....the T levels in healthy men need to be in the 500s for ideal sperm production....(not in the 300 your doctor said)....
Whatever you do, do not allow the doctor to prescribe testosterone replacement therapy (gel or cream)....it will work as birth control and shut down sperm production.....
My DH was put on Clomid for about 9 months and his T levels went up to 1,100!!!!!
GL!!

Thank you so much! I figured I would see what the RE says on Friday & then schedule our appt with the Urologist again to go over the treatment. I was thinking along the lines of Clomid rather then any of the testosterone replacements bc I saw it does shut down the production of sperm...
