Lunch and Dinner Suggestions for a Picky EAter?
I posted this earlier, but realized my request was not clear. I'm looking for any websites or cookbooks for children that you have found useful.
My young toddler is getting very picky about his food. He will basically eat only a few things. No meats, beans, fish, or fruit or veggies that are not mashed or pureed. Other than scrambled eggs or melted cheese on a pita, I'm running out of ideas for protein servings.
TIA!

Re: Lunch and Dinner Suggestions for a Picky EAter?
I have a picky eater myself! DS seems to only love grilled cheese, pizza, macaroni and cheese..... and he will only eat fruits and veggies in the pureed form!
I have recently started making him homemade mac and cheese with elbow pasta... then I will add lentils in it for protien, maybe some spinich.
Also, yesterday we were over a friend's house and he tried chicken salad for the first time and loved it! The chicken was very fine and with the mayo, I guess he liked the texture.
Not sure if this is at all helpful, but I can definitely sympathize with you!

Hmmm, I haven't tried chicken salad yet. Maybe he'll eat that. I tried ground turkey in meat sauce tonight--wasn't having it. He was getting mad that it was even on his plate actually, so I had to toss it. He doesn't like pasta--we tried mac and chesse, but he just looked at the pasta with disgust and threw it on the floor.
But yes, my DS eats just the same way. He practically lives on cheese and breads. I'm going to keep introducing non-pureed fruits and veggies, hoping he'll get used to them. It's funny because I give him the same things he loves pureed, but he won't eat them whole.

What about Pastina? If he won't eat the regular shaped pasta, try starting with Pastina which is so teeny tiny. Maybe he will eat that?

No, he hates pastina. The pasta I've given him is tiny too--I think he just doesn't like pasta. I'll wait a bit and try again. Thanks for the suggestion though!
Have you tried soups with your DS? Mine liked green pea soup, black bean soup and chicken broth (still likes this), he just won't eat the chicken chunks and few of the veggies. Now he seems to have decided he doesn't like beans either, but he liked that before.

Re: Lunch and Dinner Suggestions for a Picky EAter?
I am having the same problem DS is refusing to try more table food and is also starting to refuse some of the stage 2 dinners and vegetables he loved.
Add to that the problem that he will make himself throw up anything he doesn't like and it has been a rough road. My son is big, so I am not too worried about him getting too skinny and I figure he will eat if he is hungry enough, but every night dinner goes like this:
1.) try putting a new food or 2 on his tray (or something he has tried and refused last week or the week before)
2.) DS pokes at it or picks it up
3.) DS either tries it, gags on it and either spits up, or makes you think he will OR DS throws it on the floor
4.) DS ends up eating a slice of american cheese, a whole jar of Stage 3 fruit and either some ritz crackers or graham crackers.
I spoke to the ped about this the other day and was told to just keep trying to give him new foods, but I am getting frustrated. Daycare tries too, I think they have more luck, because he sees the other kids eating table food, but even there he isn't each much table food.
