Luxury kid friendly resorts in the Caribbean
Looking to go away with our friends to the Caribbean. Our family has a 2yo and 4yo and their family has a 1yo and 4yo. We want a high end hotel with a great spa but also has kid friendly amenities.
We are looking to go in late November or very early December so i think we need to go further south than the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos to be able to swim.

Re: Luxury kid friendly resorts in the Caribbean
We just came back from Iberostar Rose hall suites in Montego Bay, Jamaica and loved it.
Was absolutely wonderful for kids and adults.

I just got married at Paradisus Palma Real in DR and it was great. Kids and adults loved it and everyone wants to return including my DH who was anti-all-inclusive beforehand. The Reserve section offers a lot of kid services to make it kid friendly but still has a higher end feel.

There are so many wonderful options for kid friendly resorts in the Caribbean! Beaches Turks & Caicos or Negril are both gorgeous options with amazing children's programs. The Sesame Street characters would be great for the children considering they are all under 4. There are lots of activities for adults as well at these resorts.
Other great options would be Iberostar or Azul resorts.
I would love to help you plan a relaxing and fun trip for you and your family and friends.

I was just looking at Paradisus in DR. The resort looks beautiful.
Is the Reserve section its own wing of rooms? I wasn't sure if it was a kid's club/concierge only.

We just went to beaches turks and caicos in April. While our family had a great time, I prefer to go to a resort that is equally adult and kid friendly for our next trip. I'd prefer a resort that has nicer amenities for adults.
Will look into Iberostar. Our other option is the Disney Cruise.

I can't say enough good things about the Disney Cruise Line. They are top notch in terms of entertainment and their dining is excellent too. While I can/do book all destinations I started my career as a Disney specialist so if you need any tips, advice, or options when booking please contact me. I am currently offering a free gift with any Disney booking.

There are 2 paradisus resorts in DR. Palma Real is the nicer obe so just make sure you are looking at that one. The reserve is not only family concierge but a lot of families tend to stay there because that is where the kids club and kids pool is. It is promoted as a boutique hotel within the resort so it doesn't feel overly child focused. We stayed there and it felt luxurious. The reserve also offers extra restaurants that other guests can't access. It's not another wing of the hotel but rather a whole section. The downside is that it is farther from the beach and the main resort. There are always golf carts running back and forth. We were concerned that we would be unhappy with that but didn't find it to be an issue even though most of our guests were in the main resort and we were going back and forth a lot. I def recommend it. We loved going there with the kids and they liked it better than Aruba which we go to every year. Let me know if you have other questions.

I think we are going to be choosing between Paradisius DR, Disney Cruise or Hyatt Aruba.
I went to Aruba for a gf getaway and was not impressed. We stayed at the Westin using Starwood points though. I thought the town was not great and did not have one good meal while we were there. Even a simple club sandwich tasted meh. I don't mind splurging on meals but thought the restaurants for overpriced for subpar food.

Dreams, La Romana DR. It was amazing! You have to upgrade to the preferred part of the club. They have an explorers Club for kids. The spa was phenomenal. We are already planning another trip (we went in April).

Re: Luxury kid friendly resorts in the Caribbean
Love Disney Cruise idea.
What I love about it is that like Beaches there are great activities for the kids and lots for the whole family to enjoy, but the adult areas are so well thought out (and very uncrowded) as well.
We did the very popular Bahamian Cruise on the Dream in March, which was great, but as you mentioned, mixed in terms of weather. We'll be taking the E. Caribbean on the Fantasy in the fall. For the Caribbean you have warm weather all year.
Beached resorts are also fantastic. I can never hear enough raves about Turks and Caicos. I'll be touring Beaches Ocho Rios in 2 weeks so I will report back. Negril has the most amazing beach.

I love the Hyatt in Aruba, and Aruba itself but, I don't think I would take my kids there... And I was disappointed in the spa.
Have you looked into Barbados?

This is not in the Caribean, it's in Mexico, but my coworker raves about this place.
She goes every year and loves it.
It is pricey but absolutely gorgeous.
You get a huge 1000 sq foot suite with it's own plunge pool and outdoor shower and they have a kids club and babysitting.
It's more of an adult place with kid's amenities than a reall kids spot.
I am dying to go here.

This is the type of place I want!
We spent a lot on our recent trip to Beaches Turks and Caicos and I was not blown away. Yes, there were a lot of kid activities but I did not feel it was luxurious at all. Plus my kids wanted to spend all their time at the beach and pool. My kids did not want to go to Sesame Camp and they got bored of the Sesame Show (1st 2 nights were fun. By the 3rd night, they preferred to do something different).

It got RAVE reviews on tripadvisor too. 5 stars all around.
I've been trying to sell DH on this for months but he is afraid of travelling to Mexico for some dumb reason!

DH is also not a fan of traveling to Mexico. He shot it down when we were looking into our Turks and Caicos trip.
I just priced this place out and it is less than $500 for a huge suite. What a bargain compared to Beaches!

My honeymoon was at a Rosewood (little dix bay) and the service was great. I know friends who went to Mayakoba and its supposed to be great too and luxurious.
As far as the Hyatt in Aruba, we stayed there and we actually prefer our timeshare at the playa Linda next door, which is much less high end. The pool at the Hyatt isn't very kid friendly and the rooms are typical hotel rooms without a balcony. When im on a beach vacation, I like to feel like I'm on an island not in a high rise with a beach outside. Kwim?
