Maclaren triumph double stroller - new question added
My kids are 21 months and 7 months, I'd like to here the pros and cons of the maclaren as I'm geting rid of my Graco Duoglider that I hate. I'm a little worried about tight doorways with a side by side. Thoughts? I like that Maclaren is lightweight, but can you operate it well if the older one wants to walk and just have the baby in it? That's a concern of mine too.
ETA: Saw some great recommendations of the Maclaren Techno Twin. So here's a new question...
Which would you get, given all considerations (i.e. weight, and ease of use through doorways and ease of use with one child in the stroller b/c other wants to walk), would you go for:
the Maclaren Techno Twin
or
the Kolcraft Contour Options Tandem.
I've read on here that the latter is a great tandem stroller, however, a bit heavy. KIM I have chronic neck and back pain, however, I do have to use the stroller to get through narrow doorways such as at the doctor's office where the door is old, heavy and narrow.
Wish I could get both

Re: Maclaren triumph double stroller
I have the twin techno, which is pretty much the same except for a few features. I have no problems getting through doorways. Every once in a while one I have only one of them in it, and it maneuvers just fine. I love that it is so compact. I really have no cons about it that I can think of.

Re: Maclaren triumph double stroller
I also have the twin techno and love it. I have also the duoglider and love it but my 2 year old keeps unstrapping herself and gets out. The techno is lightweight and I have never had a problem with it. Sometimes it is tight through a doorway but nothing to worry about, I have also had only 1 in there and had it almost fall back since I hung my diaper bag on the back. Just be aware of the weight distribution and you will be fine. The straps are the best around and my 2 year old cannot get out of them. I bought a floor model from BBB and saved 20% on it. You cant go wrong with the Maclaren.

Re: Maclaren triumph double stroller
I edited my original email to ask a comparison question regarding 2 strollers. Could use some help with this "big" decision.

Re: Maclaren triumph double stroller - new question added
I don't know too much about the kolkraft stroller. When I was pregnant, I was originally going to get it, but then decided against it because it is 50lbs, which is very heavy to be taking in and out of the car frequently. I also think having to take the seat out to fold it would get annoying. After using the snap-n-go for 6 months, I also realized I didn't want a tandem stroller. I always felt like I was pushing a train. What I also like about the SBS is that both kids always have an equal view.

Re: Maclaren triumph double stroller - new question added
Okay, another question/concern:
diaper bag and tipping
I currently have a Maclaren Volo single and love that it's light weight, however, the diaper bag has to be on my shoulder and that stinks! I have recently purchased one Maclaren storage thing that you add to the handles, they sell it at BRU or BBB can't remember which. Anyway, I can maybe get a second one and have 2 of those hanging, but do like to have or sometimes need to have a diaper bag with me. If you even can possibly hang a diaper bag off a double (I'd think most are too wide for the bag's straps which are becoming obnoxiously shorter), is it safe to do so without the stroller tipping back. Probably same issue exists with the tandems if baby is in back seat and older child is in front and wants out. I always had my older one up front as she is more interested in what is going on. I'm sure the baby will want to see more too by the summer so I agree with a PP who said with a sbs both have equal view, which seems ideal.
I wish they made these things better/more adaptable to real life.

50 POUNDS!
Okay, that's out. I cannot lift 50 pounds. One of the reasons I'm returning the duoglider is bc its a pain to fold and unfold. To have to take seats in and out, is not for me.
So far I'm thinking sbs Maclaren. DH wants a tandem b/c he's really worried about getting through doors.

What about the city select baby jogger stroller? It seems like the best of both worlds. I had a post about it and it included links to a review by Baby Gizmo- check it out.

Re: Maclaren triumph double stroller - new question added
I've hung my diaper bag on the back of the stroller and never had an issue with tipping. You'll need a diaper bag that is made for a double though, or it won't fit over the handles. I haven't tried the organizer by Maclaren, how do you attach them? There is no handle in the middle, do they attach to each other?
The only place I have ever had an issue fitting through a door was at the ped office. It was a tight fit, but if I turned all the wheels to face in the same direction, I was able to get it through the door. Otherwise, it fits everywhere. Is it a tight squeeze through some stores like gymboree? Sure, but getting the tandem through those stores was no easy task either.

How is it not having snack tray/cup holder otherwise?
Attempting to attach the organizer

Couldn't find your post, but went to BBB website. Okay, very expensive little system, but am I understanding that you can make it either a tandem or a sbs? If that's the case, I may go forward with the return of the graco and use the $100 I'll be left with toward this purchase. My final thought though is about life without snack tray/cup holder. Not that I had DD#1 snacking or drinking much on the go, I usually kept the sippy cup in the cup holder up by me and would stop to give it.
