macys couch issues

Has anyone bought furniture from macys and have it totally not hold up well? If, so what happened?

We got a couch a little less than 2 years ago, in the microsuede fabric. We also go the 7 year warranty plan.

It's held up terribly... bottom cushions have flattened out and are pilly, the back cushions are misshapen.

I plan on calling them, but I figured I'd check here to see if anyone had any experience with what they would do in a situation like this. I suppose they can stuff the cushions some more but that won't change the fact that the fabric is getting pilly. Really, what I'd like to do is for them just to give us a credit for the couch and we can get a different one, but I don't think that would be possible.

I don't have any experience with Macy's furniture, but getting full credit back might happen. DH had a couch from Bobs that they came to fix twice and when that didn't work that they gave him full credit towards a new couch. Years ago my mother had a couch that she bought from Huffman Koos (not in business anymore). She had a similar problem - the cushions got really flattend out. They gave her full credit towards a new couch, too. Good luck!

Our macys couch actually broke, my DH jumped on it, like a running jump and it broke...his stupidity but they didn't do anything to help although we had a warranty.

My SIL's dining room table, less than a year old, is bubbling, she had Macys come look and they will not help even though she has a warranty.

All of our furniture from them was pretty bad quality I wouldn't buy from them again

Ugh that's horrible. They won't do anything about the pilling but they will send an inspector to look at the cushions, but they will only give you a day - you don't get a time until the day before! So my husband or I would have to take a day off since we won't have enough notice. How insane is that?

It IS insane and my SIL had them come and they didn't do squat, she has had the table less than a year Chat Icon

My parents had a couch that did not hold up well and Macy's said that was because my parents had 4 (or 5) children. This was in the 90s.

We bought a couch from Macys in 2008 and so far it has held up well.

Yes! I bought a leather couch years ago and within 2 years the frame underneath the couch had snapped. The couch was still usable and the issue was not noticeable and I just never did anything about it. But I would not buy from them again.

We hve a leather couch from Macy's. It was a great price (on sale) and so far has held up fine, which is lucky because I didn't purchase the warranty. I do know someone who had a problem with a bed purchased from Macy's and they had to keep after them to honor the warranty. After many phone calls and escalating of the problem they finally did replace it. I hope that your situation has a positive outcome!
