Macy's prices in-store/online are different?
I was returning something at Macy's the other day, when I saw these boots and really wanted them. They were marked $109 with 20% off, bringing them to $89.99.. I tried them on and loved them but my return was only $30 bucks and I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much more on MYSELF right now ( I have A LOT of shoes, but I really did need something like this)
I get home and I'm looking at Macy's.com later on that night.. I see the EXACT same boots for $65 WHY? So whatever.. I bought them and there was 20% off online.. so with my returned item gift card I paid about $40...
But why such a big difference in price? i wanted to go back to Macy's and tell everyone not to buy them there.

I have also noticed that things would be on sale online and not in the store and vice versa. I dont understand it either.

It is strange, but I know they do that--but they also say they will price-match on anything (I found that out when we did our registry there) if you print it out or bring a circular (even from another store) for the same exact item....so it really doesn't make sense...

I find a lot of times, when I bring my stuff to the register, the price that rings up is way lower than what it's marked. That's why before I acutally buy I either scan it myself or bring it to a cashier for a price check.

Alot of stores do this. I know Target does- I saw a DVD set online on sale for $25, I went to the store and it was $40.

I asked in the shoe section about them matching the price and 2 employees both told me no...
I would rather not have to wait for them to arrive in the mail.. ANNOYING

that's weird! They definitely told me when I made my wedding registry there that they will match prices in any dept in the store, as long as you have proof of the other price!

That is so annoying. I have noticed this at Old Navy too.

Yeah, thats true, but by the time you pay shipping & handling, it comes out to the same price anyway.

A few stores are like that. There is much less handling and overhead for storing something in a carton on a rack in a warehouse vs being put on display in a store.
