Pottery Barn- Different Prices in store???
So DH and I have been looking for a bed for a while- we want a whole bed- like a platform, not just the headboard. So my dad sells furniture, he's a rep but of course Dh doesn't like anything he's got bed wise from the factories he represents.
I relent and let him buy us a Pottery Barn bed- its really nice pricey. But I figure- that's ok- my dad will get us the rest of the stuff.
So I was looking in the catalogue this morning and notice the bed we bought is 999 with 150 shipping compared to 1249 with no shipping costs in the store we got it from. They made a big deal about this in the store that in store purchases have free delivery.Whopee its still 100 more!
I am so ******- My Dh doesn't want to reorder- since we used a 10% off moving coupon and some of our gift cards from the wedding so we got it way below 1000.
SO I plan on going into the store and causing a stink. I think this is rediculous to have different prices for the SAME store in two different places. And no, the item in the catalogue was not on sale.
I just checked on the internet and its 1099 with 150 delivery costs. This is crazy!

I think on the website the $150 is an additional charge tacked on the normal shipping which is 10% of the price. If the it is listed as (150) next to the price that is a surcharge.

Re: Pottery Barn- Different Prices in store???
I have Pottery Barn dressers. I can't tell you the exact figures, but I remember going through the numbers at the time and the prices in the store were the same as the price in the catalog with shipping added. I don't know why the catalog would be different, unless there was a printing error or something.
I thought they were pricey, but they are beautiful and the only thing DH and I both liked. They are well made and I have to say their customer service and delivery were outstanding. We also used the 10% coupon when I moved.

see for me, i think you can better sale things in the store. i saw a huge tray that i liked- it was $75 in the catalog - on sale for $49 in the store. Keep checking the stores. They also sell floor models. Also the outlet is good if you have a truck to bring things home in.

Colleen, I got the coupon in the mail when I moved - I think it might have been connected with the change of address with the post office - I got one from Raymour & flanigan too.

yes, they charge shipping plus extra for bulk. they are usually very good w/ crediting so i would bring your receipt and the catalog and speak to the store manager. be patient and calm w/ him/her and just explain the situation.
good luck!!

Re: Pottery Barn- Different Prices in store???
Thanks everyone for your help. I am going to go to the store and bring the catalogue and see if I can get a credit. The price is 100 less in the catalogue including all the shipping costs. It might just be a misprint since its correct on-line.
