Made my first prenatal appointment
I am going on August 4th....That would make me about 6-7 weeks pregnant if my calculations are correct....what should I expect at this first doctor's visit? TIA

last week was my first one i was about 6 weeks, they only did blood work. the doctor said it was so early that we wouldn't see anything in a sonogram just an empty sac. But she told me to come back at 8 weeks for a sonogram.

Good Luck! First, I had a sonogram. I wasn't as far along as I thought, so I had to come back the next week to make sure everything was OK and baby was developing. It was at that time that I had another sono, blood work and the dos and don'ts and what tests are done at which weeks, urine sample, etc.

I guess they won't do a sonogram on me either.....I may have to go back at 8 weeks for that then as well. Thanks girls

They may do it. I know my Dr. does it at every visit. Also, since you are not positive how far along you are, they may want to do a sono to see.

First appt is generally bloodwork, urine,blood pressure...the basics.

Good luck! I expected a sono too but they don't do it in my office b/c of my insurance. I had blood drawn, also urine sample and what to do and not to do.
