Madeline ....... poll.
Do you pronounce it....(see poll)
and if you want it to sound like MadeLINE..is the spelling incorrect?

that wouldve been DS name had he been a girl and we would have spelled it Madeline and pronounced it Mada-lynn.

the reason I ask is b/c a website says the proper way to pronounce it is MadaLynn... but if you want it to sound like MadaLINE, you would spell it Madeleine.
Sooo..I'm confused.

I always pronounce it with the lynn at the end.... I think of Madeleine for the LINE sounding name.
I wanted to name my DD Caroline - pronounced Carol-LINE. But everyone always pronounces it Carolynn, so we nixed it in the end.

I have a child in my class Madeline, but she goes by Madelyn, but we all call her Maddy

if it were madelynn or another version of lynn on the end i would pronounce it lynne.

when we were thinking of using it, we were going to spell is Madeline, but pronounce it mada-lynn. The only time i say MadeLINE is in reference to the book/movie.

It's my mom's name...spelt just as you wrote it and the ending sounds like lynn....but because her mother was italian and my father is off the boat italian they refer to her as magdelena so they totally say it wrong!
