Re: Maine with a 16months old?
We went to Maine when Andrew was 15 months old and we had a blast!! We are going back again this yr!!
We stay in Ogunquit and love it there!!! DH spent his summers there as a child. The food is unbelievable and the scenery is gorgeous!!! The shopping isn't bad either:)
There is so much to do. There is York Zoo which is a lot of fun!! And the Beaches are fantastic!!
Here is my montage from our family trip there
Link
In York there is also a really cool old fashioned candy store where you can watch the pull taffy.

The go cart placs is York Zoo. It is also an amusement type place
York Zoo
And we stayed that yr and will again this yr at the Meadowmere. They give us the best rate and we really loved their sauna area and their indoor pool. They also have a cool bar that serves a great lunch
You can walk to Marginal Way which is a walkway that runs along the top of the cliffs all the way to Perkins Cove which has great shops and great restaurants.
Marginal Way
There are also free Jitneys that run all around town.
I can't wait until one day we can afford a summer house there. It is just a great vacation!!
There is also the Footbridge the leads to a beautiful beach.
Summary from a Trail Guide. A walkers’ wooden bridge across sand dunes to the ocean beach and back along the Ogunquit River tidal flats. Walking Ogunquit Beach is like walking into an abstract painting with long horizon lines. Many painters, in fact, live here. Behind you, to the east, is Moody Point in Wells, and before you is a “boar’s head,” a term early settlers gave to cliff outcrops.
