makeup help... for an "older" woman
after having had my makeup professionally done, i got to thinking that i might want to wear some on special occasions.
can someone recommend a good primer/base for me? i don't know where to look or where to begin.
i'm thinking of going back to where i got it done and ask the lady who did my makeup to suggest something.

I am in my 40s and so far the best primer I have found for my skin right now is Urban Decay Optical Illusion. It really smooths things out.
Also if you have pores or texture- or even a line you want to fill- Benefit Porefessional- patted just into the areas you want to fill in- is great

Re: makeup help... for an "older" woman
I guess I’m older. I don’t like to say that, through. I’m in my 40s.
I don’t buy a primer. Instead I do a layer of powder (very light dusting). I let that set, then I out on light foundation and blend it with a sponge. Then I put on a light dusting of powder over that. It lasts all day this way. However, I’m a bit lazy and just do it on certain occasions.
I like MAC foundation and then I use drug store powder or Clinique.

It really depends on your skin. I would go to Ulta or something and try on a few foundations and see what works.
I personally like Too Faced Hangover Primer and I use Max Studio Fix Fluid Foundation - I have pretty dry skin though. I don't use any powder.

Never tried primer, just moisturizer under Clinique Foundation, finished with some light powder.
