Making a DVD?
We have a Sony Handycam which records on a mini dvd.
I am thinking for DS's Christening favor (I only need 15) I'd make a DVD compiling the first few months of life....just little snippets from the DVD's we've already created.
My laptop has a dvd writer.
Any idea if this idea is possible/how I'd go about doing it?

You need a DVD editing software package. Did anything come with your camera? Usually they have some decent tools bundled with the camcorder. There are some free tools on the web for editing video, and there are quite a few packages you can buy. I haven't done much editing, so I don't know specifics, but I do know that there are a lot of tools out there.
Once you have a tool, it's very easy. Just combine the video clips, add some transition effects (fade out, wipe from one side to the other, etc), add some text, and save.
I have one tool at home that I've used a few times, but I don't remember what the name of it is.

not sure if this helps, but www.onetruemedia.com, is a good site for putting together video clips - then you can order DVD's or download them as needed
