making chocolate in molds....few Questions
I am making chocolate candy / lollipops for the favor for my DS's 1st Bday! I have to make 300 (each person is getting 3) so I would like to start making them early and store them so I can do a little at a time and not do them all the week before and "kill myself"!!!
One is a spiderman with fine lines of blue on the face..I tried a tooth pick but it came out messy. I have a squeeze bottle I bought for icing from a past project, would that work better?
How early is too early????? ..the Party is Jan 9, 2010 (with the holidays and a weeks vacation away with the family =) I would like to start early) ..is NOW a little too early.?????
When I do make them, should I just store them in Ziplock bags to keep them fresh?
I plan of putting them in my basement which is cool and dry?
Thanks!

I've made them a few times and have always been told that you shouldn't do it more than a few days in advance because the chocolate starts to turn white.

Re: making chocolate in molds....few Questions
I made them for my wedding. We started the Tuesday before the wedding (it was a Saturday). They shouldn't get white as long as you don't put them in the freezer. The basement sounds ideal. That being said I wouldn't start till the week of. Number 1 rule is to allow no water in the chocolate. Sounds simple, but it you wash any molds or anything in between make sure they are completely dry.
